Greetings:

There are no odds on this game but here is the Winnersandwhiners take.  Apparently, Neuvy is the starter:

Unlike our last game, PJ is back and the Preds just ended a losing streak winning 6-3 against the Caps.  This will be a challenge.

I think this one could get real ugly with the impotent Flyers coming to Smashville.

I hope the beat the Flyers 8-0....maybe then they will do something about this bunch of underachieving millionaires....or will they just fire the equipment guy...

3-3-1 since Gordon took over.

More disturbing is that our offense has dried up.

19 goals for, 29 goals against in the last 9 games.

When Giroux doesn’t lead the way, this team has no fire power.

Our defense is playing better,  but the offense is a major disappointment.  Start the firesale and solidify the lottery pick.

And the PP is 9 for 91 since October 13th (9.9%).

Bring Joey Mullen back.

Hey at least they are in the Jack Hughes running.

I don't think so they don't ever challenge the puck carrier anymore....no one.

Use to be Mcdud was the only one who at the first sign of someone entering there zone he would immediately concede and back pedal towards his goalie.

Now all of them do it. So easy to score on the Flyers no one ever steps up to even try to prevent them from coming in cleanly.

Hell maybe Gordon wants it that way and he taught Mcdud the trick.

And if they ever do try anything it's some weak ass stick check that does nothing....

I meant in terms of giving up less goals, but I agree they suck. They need a Pronger type guy back there lead the defense by example. We also need some kind of spark up front also.

To stand up at the blue line the forwards have to coming back to help hold the line.

If g is leading the charge why are they playing this bad .

Would been best Homer kept his hands off for a year more .

G is the only asset they have that will command anything coming back .

Just play team d cut Provolone's ice time

 Flyers....4

preds......2

Lets go Flyers..

The forward coming back has nothing to do with challenging a puck carrier into your zone.

You just have to make up you mind you are going to commit to doing it and that means succeeding and not whiffing and letting them skate around you.

It's no different than letting the goalie take the shooter on a 2 on 1 and the defender preventing the pass. You must commit and keep the puck from coming across to the shooter.

Execution. It comes down to that.

But that is the problem with this team they can't process the information quick enough to know WTF they want to do so they usually cower and skate backwards conceding the zone.

Same reason other teams are successful with their PK all you have to do is pressure the puck and they shat the bed.

This group doesn't seem to have a high hockey IQ and they can't think fast enough to get out of trouble. Not all but a majority of the team suffers from this.

It's the difference from getting to the NHL time and space can be taken away...instincts have to kick in at some point...and they just don't have it.

Good effort so far tonight. They have their skating legs going. Where was this vs Carolina?

The guys have their sea legs.  But they hit the post, or don't shot.....somehow the effort doesn't translate to score.  It is painful to watch.  The PP needs Viagra with IV infusion. If that doesn't exist, let McCrossin fake it.

Neuvy is heroic.  His teammates are working hard but it doesn't seem to matter.

I think our power plays are good opportunities to fix snacks or visit the loo. Watching them is a waste of time and frustrating.

So I have to ask WTF was Mcdud doing up so high in the slot...freelancing leaving Sanheim all alone to defend the goal??

Please for the love of God get that guy off the team...if they don't move no one else if they get rid of Mcdud if even to the press box or to LV it will be a win.

Give Myers or Friedman a chance to see if they can help the defense out God knows they can't be worse or more useless.

We are at the point where waiver or buyout would be appropriate.  Whether or not it happens...different story.

They have plenty of cap space for sure but if you waive Mcdud th amount of cap it would fre up would more than cover Myers or Friedman's salary.

Well, if you want to get really depressed, consider that we're only half way through this slop.

@Howie58

Also in time regards of waiving Mcdud and calling up Myers or Friedman it would add even more youth to lineup i know.

But they are the 2nd worst team in the NHL after tonight's loss WTF is there left to lose might as well get the kid feet wet with the remaining games.

Therefor by next season maybe they can see some benefits to this lost season.

There is nothing left to lose this season it is going down in Flames.

Can’t put the goals on Neuvirth while on the other end we’ve been making it easy on Saros. PP is putrid and we’re back to going through the motions in the offensive zone in general. This is getting really tough to watch. I’d rather be at work.

Or: Provorov is showing Neuvy how to play goal? Which is about as Flyer as you can get.
