To nobody's surprise, the Caps are heavy favorites. We are not that bad on advanced statistics; but it doesn't translate to winning:

Please start McKenna don't be cruel to Hart.

I agree.  But at this juncture, they could start Georges Vezina, Bernie Parent, or Patrick Roy, and we'd get the same BS.

Starting McKenna is a frightening sign of how depleted this squad is.  Normally, I would expect a team to rally around a journeyman backup (actually, kind of amazing story), but my fear is that they will let him hang out.

Other than Giroux, I see no untouchables.  This squad is worse than 2006-07.  That was glorified AHL caliber.  On paper, this team should be among the top of its division.

I think we will be looking back at this and saying the long winning and losing streaks of the past few years were telltale signs of  a cruddy squad.  The heat maps of the shots tell us a lot about effort and talent.  They are missing.

I agree...destroy McKenna, not Hart.

Over/Under on Ovechkin hat tricks is 2.

My only request tonight from Ovechkin being the classy guy he is, after his 5th goal and a 7-0 Capitals lead in the 3rd, give the Flyer goaltender a hug.

this could be the ugliest game of the year....    And with the way things are going I won't even give a crap if they get pounded.

I think its safe to say that I will probably be watching re-runs of The Jeffersons at that time!  Just listening to the theme song would add more value to my life than watching this game tonight.

Bold prediction - Nolan Patrick scores a goal.

He hasn't scored since early November (21 games), so he's gotta be due, right?

it would be nice, but if you're in a goal drought the only sure way out of it is to play AGAINST the flyers.

my prediction: Caps 6-0. Offense continues to stagnate and shoot the puck with closed eyes and clenched arseholes from low percentage perimeter areas. We end up with 34 shots, but few real scoring chances. PK does ok but lets in 2. Caps bully us all over the ice. Wilson injures somebody... Couturier or Provorov. Nobody does anything about it.

Well you have to shoot first. 2 shots the last four games ain't going to do it.

Two assists since november 13th.

I'm going to call him a bust till he proves me wrong. I can live with that.

After last night's sleepwalk, I hope they come out with some fire. Sadly, that may be too much to ask, but if there's one ounce of professionalism left in the Flyers' tank, it should show the first 5-10 minutes.  If not then, when?
