The Wild are a mild favorite:

Their D is quite good; their O isn't much better than ours.  It's interesting to note that some of the betting sites are apparently writing off the Flyers and won't set lines.  The Wild play well against the Metro.  It has been over a year since we've played them:

I don't know. The way the Wild were standing around against Detroit, you'd think they were after Hughes or that Finnlander...

The interesting questions might be who gets jettisoned? Weal was first. Who's next? Folin? AMac? Raffl?  The rest of the season is audition time, particularly for the youngins.  So...who frees up space?

This will be the 3rd game in a row I’m not attending and Wednesday will be my 4th.  That’s unheard of for me as I’m generally at every game win lose or OT loss (since we can no longer draw) but it’s so demoralizing at this point that it’s become like work to drive down there and spend my valuable time.  At least I have been able to give away my tickets for tonight and sell them for Wednesday so money is not being completely wasted.  It’s sad though as it’s not like me to do this.

This game is going to be like the Irresistible Force meeting the Immovable Object! 😂

Flyers need to play their backup. The Wild have a talent for making backups look like the second coming of Jacques Plante...

The Wild have 19 SOG over the last four periods of hockey...so if you consider that a shelling, then yes, he's going to get shelled...

Well that isn't encouraging you guys don't sound like you're going to help much in the quest for the 1st overall pick.

Don't try to out tank the tankers please. Be courteous to your hosts. :whiteflag:

I think he goes soon.  Folin and Raffl would be more dump.  But I agree, he is in the cross-hairs.

Greetings:

Here is another take on the game...and the signing of JVR.

You won't win many games averaging 1.8 goals.  Yikes:

They got bag skated the other day, so we’ll see. The last time a coach (Yeo) threw a hissy fit most of the team stood there and rolled their eyes...

5 forward PP was successful.  Ghost on the 2nd unit adds something even though they didnt score.

Sounds interesting. Some think the Wild should try that. But unfortunately the $10M man wants to run the point, and what the $10M Man wants, the $10M Man gets....

@vis @radoran   I think that a lot of people see that draft position and picture a pure point producer, and that (imo) isn't Puljujarvi's drawing card. There isn’t a without-the-puck facet of the winger role during 5v5 that Puljujärvi doesn’t show strength in. He helps zone exits, entries, disrupts breakouts with well-time poke checks, forces dump-ins with backpressure, forcing turnovers. He does all of those things at the NHL level right now. He was a very strong (but not elite) produ

Good character win last night.   Down 2-0 and 3-2, and with their rookie goalie having an off night, the team dug in and came up with some goals to help him out. That's a nice change. It's good for Hart to have nights like this - where the team bails him out - and good for the team to score more than 2.    The 5 forward PP looked good, but I feel that it's just waiting to be exploited by a more aggressive PK team.    JVR, Simmonds, and Patrick all needed this scorin

I agree i take the project in Jesse...is it risky?? Sure.   However for Simmer it's worth the risk....for the upside hopefully it can present.     They have a nice stable of kids already coming this kid is already here.   Question is will the Oilers do it?? Hell i'll even throw Andrew Macdonald in to sweeten it...

Agreed with Bre that seeing some scoring was welcome relief.  It may not matter much at this juncture but at least it makes for watchable hockey.  JVR's hat trick was "unusual." It was more being in the right place than show of skill.  But as they say, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

I think they definitely feel he should be further along as a #4 overall. But @brelic is right that it's too early to declare "bust."   In some respects Puljujarvi hasn't gotten the good look in the right place in the lineup. In others, he's 20.   If anything, EDM might be more inclined to move him if they are "disappointed". If he even turns out to be a Teravainen-type player (20/60), that's not bad.   Obviously, I'd like JR's insight as well!

Oh, I'm sure they would be interested in him. HOW interested? I couldn't hope to say. Trading Puljujarvi represents extreme risk for Edmonton. Making trades (Hall, #16 for Reinhart, Eberle, etc) is how they've gotten themselves into this pickle. For my part, I have zero confidence in them being able to get something like this done correctly.   There was a Simmonds to EDM rumour which somebody in Philly flat-out lied about, according to TSN. Bob McKenzie excoriated the guy on twitter ov
