Brewin Flames
Dallas Stars sign OHL leading-scorer Tye Felhaber Report: Dallas Stars sign OHL leading-scorer Tye Felhaber Tye Felhaber chasing John Tavares’ 72 goal mark in CHL February 2, 2019, 7:52 PM The Dallas Stars are expected to sign undrafted free-agent forward Tye Felhaber, according to Sean Shapiro of the Athletic. The 20-year-old leads the OHL with 51 goals and 88 points in 50 games for the Ottawa 67’s. Felhaber is on pace to score 72 goals this season, which is not a common occurrence in the OHL. Only seven skaters have scored 70 or more goals in the OHL with John Tavares being the last to do so back in the 2006-07 season for the Oshawa Generals. The Pembroke, Ont., native told the Canadian Press back in February that close to 20 teams were showing interest in signing him. Felhaber was passed on in consecutive NHL drafts and is in his final year of junior eligibility. Felhaber was invited to the Toronto Maple Leafs development camp back in 2016 and was also signed to an amateur tryout by the Montreal Canadiens, playing in four games with the Laval Rockets of the AHL.
