What is a defenseman's job?
To prevent shots/goals.
Fewest unblocked shots against/60 5v5 minutes:

Don't trade Ghost. His value is low, and his contract is more than manageable. You're not going to get anything approaching value, and the screaming when he's back to what he was last year will be maddening. Let him hang out with Hart's sports psychiatrist. See if you can fix him in the offseason.
Especially don't trade him for an expiring UFA.
Isn't this what we bitched about Homer and Clarke doing? Giving up on young players after one disappointi
It could be Gudas. He's the guy I'd be least interested in trading among our options. We don't have another physical guy who can intimidate and make opponents pay the price. He's like a freaking tree trunk.
Yes, we have Morin, but I need to see him play actual hockey first before we can have any realistic expectation that he can be that guy. He's a FULL season away from even being an effective, comfortable blueliner in the NHL, I'd say. Same with Myers, though that doesn't seem to be
I like Meyer's game.
He is aggressive everywhere on the ice.
Guy really looks good to me every time I see him play...love that he ragged Hornqvist a couple of times, even when 72 made a nice move 61 recovered quickly.
He looks to affect the game. I dig that.
Plus, he's big and plays like it.
Love his confidence.
Well the only other option is Hagg in that regard because Gudas is but he is also a right hand shot.
And you will never seen Mcduds and defensively responsible in the same sentence so he is out.
So it will have to be....
With Mcdud on the popcorn machine where he belongs.
