MNSOTA wrote up the game preview, I'll be on the post-gamer.  Not much really needs to be said.  This game is huge for both teams.  With one more game than Colorado, Minnesota can gain some ground after an Arizona loss and push a competitor a little farther back.  This game should feel like a playoff game because it might as well be the case.  Enjoy and discuss...

Watched Avs play recently against the Devils. Granted the Devils are a bottom feeder but man, do they have pace! And not just MacKing or Rantanen - guys in the lower lines show tremendous speed too. And the Wild keep extending contracts of guys who carry a piano on their back...

I have recently read some interviews of some players in our local media. They said that the team does not have a pure scorer. It is not a surprise for us for 19 years, except Gaborick and maybe Staal and Zucker in some years. But that diminishing status should not be recognized by our own players, because it shoots down more their motivations to play hard. They should recognize if we do not have a pure scorer , then the entire team should become a  pure scorer from all lines, including defensemen lines too during the whole 60 minutes of game.

The wild have never had scores largely because wild fans understand the need for defense.

If a player shows a nack for scoring but doesn’t play defense fast enough he’s sent packing or usually put on the 4th line until he learns his lesson.

And when his skills deteriorate, he’s labeled a wash out.

We have this going on now with Fiala. How long until he’s put on the 3rd or 4th line until his defense improves.

Fiala is on the third line.  At least for most of Sunday's game he was, playing with Rask and Aberg.  And hey,  I like the guy's potential, But he can't be rewarded with top 6 PT if he's going to turn the puck over in the def. and neutral zones  a half a dozen times a game.
