JVR out with concussion

Isn't it possible that they are just using the "concussion" as a means of protecting him from real injury while on the trading block? Since concussion diagnoses are not black and white they can concoct one to protect him while they finalize a deal. Of course, the other team would have to know the truth of it, otherwise they wouldn't trade.

I highly doubt it. Given the increased sensitivity around concussions this year, it would be in pretty poor taste to 'fake' a concussion injury. It would have been much easier to just say he's out with a UBI or LBI or something.

This is getting OUT of control. I'm not saying this (and really, really not about JVR) but if you want a few weeks off just slam yourself into the boards and say you don't feel like yourself. Now we all know JVR has 2-3 other things wrong with him. Has anyone else thought maybe teams in general are using this as an excuse to rest banged up players, in some cases? Not that I believe in conspiracy theories but this is getting crazy now...

On a side note, there go those JVR trade rumors!

No.

Holmgren said James van Riemsdyk (concussion) worked out off ice on Thursday with no ill effects. "He's kind of trending the way Claude (Giroux) did (on his recovery from a concussion). We're taking it day by day.
