You can only gauge a prospect so much by playing with a bunch of other prospects and career AHLers. At some point you have to throw them into the deep end of the pool which would be the NHL give some solid linemates to judge them by. And then it is sink or swim time. And sometimes they just sink. So at his age it is time to see can he help now or not. He was a 2nd round pick with a decent skill set....and if he can't help now in the bottom 6 it is very likely that he will never be able to and well it's time to move on and find someone who can help when needed.
