So good to see some hockey even if it's a little sloppy to start.

Sandstrom looks very poised.

Rubtsov just scored as I typed this.

Nice helper by Myers!

1-0

Yes he has looked sharp tonight. The reason the Flyers are ahead.

Ustamenko is struggling

Brzy like...up high glove side....not the start he was looking for...i think he starts in the ECHL anyways.

Sandstrom and Lyon in net for the Phantoms.

Lack of discipline in general over the last 15 minutes or so of play. Sloppy.

You are in mid season form.

I see you have been practicing this summer.

I need to get a move on i have been slacking and my bitching tonight was kind of rusty.

I will be better next game...

After last night's game i give Ruby the edge in making the team....

...i think overall Farabee stood out the most but i still think he gets the Giroux treatment, is sent down and then after dominating for about 30 games gets called up.

But overall i can see Ruby getting the nod come end of camp to start the season on the big club he was very good at both ends of the ice.

I can see Ratty, Frost and Farabee getting a chance to show out in the AHL to start the season. They have a chance to be the top line in the AHL next year potential.

Sandstrom i hope plays the lion share of the minutes in the AHL this year with Lyon spelling him when they have back to backs or he needs a rest.

Ustimenko had a rough start and eventually settled down some in the 3rd but could use some seasoning in the ECHL next year while the AHL goalie situation is settled.

Then come 2020-21 i can see Sandstrom moving up to back up Hart and Ersson coming over to tandem with Ustimenko for the Phantoms.

Edit: I forgot the big one was Pascal Laberge...i'm afraid he will be the forgotten one...not very much of a noticeable forward out there...to much talent on the Phantoms now for him to be consider much more here.

Maybe somewhere else he will get the chance...i would try to move him for a late pick when the time is near.

Any way that is my 2 cents right now...it's subject to change with the rest of the preseason to play.

I vote Rubtsov, Frost, and Farabee all make it.

Giroux - Couturier - Konecny

JVR - Hayes - Lindblom

Frost - Patrick - Voracek

Farabee - Rubtsov - Laughton

Raffl/Pitlick

Assuming an average of 50 ES minutes per game, give line 1 14 minutes, lines 2&3 12.5, and line 4 11. Adjust based on how the lines are playing and situation.

There is a 0% chance this happens.  They are already an incredibly young team, they aren't going to add three more players under the age of 21.

Yeah on NHL 20 maybe but no way all 3 make the squad.

In fact I wouldn't be totally shocked if none of them made it and they all start in the AHL to begin the season.

But I would give the slight edge to Ruby to male it.

15 of those guys from those "garbage teams" (e.g. last year) are still on the roster...   Is adding Niskanen, Braun, Hayes, Pitlick/Twarynski/Bunnaman going to change the team fundamentally? We'll see.     AV is a lot more "energetic" than I thought he would be - not that I followed his tenure in New York and/or Vancouver all that closely.   The team has three guys with NHL head coaching experience behind the bench. We're going to find out how much of the str

I mostly agree, but I think this team needs more than just being a little better than last year.   Honestly, everyone and their dog had pegged last year's Flyers as a team to watch as a dark horse prior to the start of the season. There were plenty of reasons to believe they were on the upswing and going to have a year where they at least made the playoffs and quite possibly made some noise once there. That did not happen. Instead we got pretty much more of the same as we've endured no

A few things...    I think there's a very good chance the Flyers *do* trade a defenseman. And Winnipeg makes a lot of sense because they are in need of NHL defensemen.   Unless it's for someone that significantly moves the needle (e.g. Laine or Connor), I don't think the Flyers would want a roster player in return.   So in that scenario, I'm guessing the defenseman we move is either Hagg or Morin for a draft pick or B prospect. Hagg will fetch more.    I d

RE: 8-10-2 I can't help but think the coaching staff won't tolerate poor effort.   The way the Flyers are practicing with everything going quickly will pay dividends eventually.  I felt like the message was received after the home sleepwalk loss to the Bruins.   The effort I've seen in the games since has been very good. I didn't watch yesterday, also IDGAF about that game.  The game that matters is on 10/4- I expect we'll see a team moving its feet and pressur
