 😀

Five games into the KHL season and Ilya Sorokin already has two shutouts. Sorokin recorded his 50th and 51st career KHL shutouts - regular season and playoffs combined - after putting up a pair of clean sheets against SKA St. Petersburg and Admiral Vladivostok. Not a bad start for the Islanders' 2014 third-round pick (78th overall), who is playing in his fifth season in the KHL. Through five games of the 2019-20 season, Sorokin has registered a 3-1-1 recorded and logged a 1.15 goals-against average and a .953 save percentage.

Is Lehner still there?  He is a bum in shootouts.  Regardless of the season he had last year.  Lehner I mean

This should be very, VERY good news to goalie starved Long Island.
Semyon Varlamov should provide some very good short term goaltending, but remembering that he tends to need stretches on IR (almost on the regular, season in, season out), the Islanders really could use a star type goalie for the long term.

Still hasn't hit his "goalie prime", and yea, the KHL is not exactly the NHL, but one can't deny these fantastic numbers.
Bodes well for the Isles.

Just look out for Brent Johnson.

According to the eliteprospects.com link, Sorokin(24 y.o.) started to play in KHL 9 seasons ago at the age of 15. His stats are amazing, especially his GAA, save percentage and SO records. He is also an Olympic Games and a Gagarin Cup winner. 5 years ago(2014) he was drafted by New York Islanders but ,unfortunately, is still not playing there. I think, it's a time to bring him to the NHL to expose his talent more.
