Flyers vs. Blackhawks: 10/4 @ 2 PM

Recommended Posts

I would still like to see Farabee and Myers added to this lineup go ahead and IR Patrick doesn't seem like he will be playing.

More likely to hold the team hostage all season, meanwhile the team has games to win and could use some more talent in the ranks.

I agree with this it all starts with the mind set...

"I understand people's disappointment, but I would say that's all behind us,” Vigneault said. “Chuck is here, he's new. I'm here, I'm new. Nothing I can do about what happened in the past — I can focus on the present and hopefully make the future what we all want it to be. I'm going to be on high alert, I'm going to work my butt off to get this done and I’m very confident that it's going to work out."

...all you have to do is going out and do it! Talk is cheap. Action makes it happen.

They don't have a choice!

I watched a chunk of the replay last night.

1)  The team moved the puck well.

2)  Hayes does play a "200 foot game."

3)  This fourth line looked good.  I wonder what happens when Patrick returns.

4)  JVR is fun to watch, even if he doesn't score.  They guy assaults the other team's net.

5)  Movement on the power play was very good.

Let's see what happens against NJ.

I hoping with some set lines and time to practice it all will get even better.

The whole team looked to be trying to find a groove even with the first goal Hart stops that 9 99 times out of a 100.

Winning breeds confidence.

And the big guns have even found the twine yet.

They don't have a choice!

Yes. Certainly not the best way to kick off a season.

Devils are struggling to stop the puck. Given up 12 goals in the last two games. And are still winless.

Hopefully the Flyers can continue the trend.

Flyers won't get another home game till October 19th. Let that sink in for a minute.

Just brutal.  Anticlimactic.  Can't barely watch the game live, then have to wait five days for another game.  Some teams have already played three games.

First game: 2pm local time.

Home opener: 7:30pm local time

Next three games: 10pm, 9:30pm, 9pm local starts

Then, as Occ noted, the second home game of the season 12 days from now.

Effectively, most local fans will have a chance to see one full game live in the first two weeks of the season.

That's just stupid.

Meanwhile the Blackhawks play their next road game on October 26 - the game after their second (and last) meeting with the Flyers.

Look at this way...they are 2 points outside the 3rd spot in the Metro with a game in hand....

...or they are only 2 points from the bottom of the Eastern conference....

Or, if you're the NHL on NBC Twitter feed - they are UNDEFEATED!

On pace to win 82 games this year - a franchise record!!!

And looking ahead slightly November looks brutal. 16 games in 30 days.

4 back to backs. The longest break is two days off 3 times. No rest for the weary!!!

We will certainly know where they are by December....and we'll know if Elliott is up for the task of giving Hart a rest.

March is the same as November and ends with 3 games in 4 nights in April.

January is really light - only 11 games.   Who comes up with this ****.

Tough way to start to the season for fans, but maybe some team camaraderie can be built during this stretch.

I don’t know, it truly feels like the schedule makers don’t give a crap about the Flyers having to start in Europe.

More importantly, we’ll know if Hart is up for the task.

Not sure who accurate this is but.....Flyers at the 5th hardest schedule according to that site.

He's only 22, they'll figure it out.

Should have never signed Berube.

You can find a guy of his caliber between the couch cushions.

Sandstrom needs to play vs AHL talent.

Seems like they panicked because they went through 8 goalies last year so they over compensate.

Yeah, not sure why they signed Berube other than as insurance against Elliott. He doesn't have a ton of NHL experience, but he has more than Lyon so in the worst case scenario, he could play a role until they figure out something more permanent.
