CL kept from the rebuild for this?!?  There were multiple examples to confirm that this 'core' could not win (e.g. the first round humiliations over-and-over).  Instead of doing what he could to get a few of his 'core' further upwards of their downward apex to waive NTC/NMC's for a trade to rebuild, he has now boxed himself in with a few more elderly additions, lost the middle 'core' (Granlund, Coyle, NN, maybe Haula, and was soon to be Tuch), and added some questionable young resources back (Donato, Fiala, and...Rask 😡)

There is now no other choice but to tear down before trade deadline this year.  The irony is that this (non) 'core' has even less value (and more baggage) than there would have been a few years ago, and rebuilding this team will be an even more daunting task for his new GM.  A first step would be to start decreasing minutes and line rankings for the graybeards very soon.  That way, at least you know which young guys should stay (or go) by providing them more opportunities (TOI, PP, PK).  Also, get on a plane to Russia often this year and get Kaprisov signed in April - at least he MIGHT be a star at a forward position (God knows we have none now).  Lastly, get Koivu the HE77 off the powerplay and in the top 3 TOI - he skates like my 75 year old father and is fu@#in worthless.  Also, get rid of limp-wrister (20) and whiny ass (11) for any minimal return that you can BEFORE the deadline, as the vultures are circling above them (and will be also in the empty EXCEL by XMass).

I was kind of amused at Bruce's post game presser when he compared the Wild to St. Louis last year...um, Bruce, did you forget that St. Louis FIRED THEIR HEAD COACH?

Agree, but, unfortunately, their team is a different too in comparison to our. Tarasenko is a star there for many years already as well as their Binnington is not our Dubnyk also. The team should start their history from a superb goalie capable to steal most games, but not losing every game 3-4 goals. We do not have that one yet as well as a superb finishers. At least our good effort yesterday was in multiple shots - 40. We do not see that very often from our team.

What we do see with those shots are missed opportunities, which is nothing new with this team. Wild could of easily won last night had they cashed in on a couple of their grade A chances

Yes, we had last night grade A chances, but, unfortunately, not great finishers. In general, at least we had some better movements on the ice during 60 min. capable to shoot 40 times into the net instead of  watching  the walking lazy cows on the ice  for 1 or 2 periods per game without any efforts to make a minimal production. Hoping for a better result on our home ice opener on Saturday against Penguins. Still I am thinking that Murray is better than Dubnyk, and Crosby and Guentzel are better than Zuccarello and Parise.

Saturday's home game is immensely important now. Another loss, after the failed last season, and the mood in the team must be akin to a mood on a sinking ship.

Oh, yeah. Just watch. Pretty soon we're gonna hear the team is "squeezing their sticks too hard"...

Koivu's cliche is an all time (hate) favorite of mine:

"We have to be better". :DohSmiley:

I would suspect that Koivu himself doesn't have a clue that phrase doesn't mean anything. But he probably doesn't care one iota either.

Let's not kid ourselves, most players don't want to talk to the media anyhow. There's a reason most players have their cliché answers. Heck, I'd prefer Parise take his issues with the coach directly to the coach instead of blabbering to the media on "how it should be done".
