Greetings:

We are underdogs against a hot Vegas club that balances good scoring and sound defense:

The "outshoot but underscore" phenomenon is disturbing and I have to wonder if our first line is truly a first line by NHL standards.

Farabee and Vorobyev join the parent club.  Maybe an infusion of youth/skill makes a difference. Either way, the O and B Brain Trust must realize the current roster needs rejuvenation:

Maybe we move Farabee to the first line and Konecny to the third line so he can help get JVR on track.  Konecny is playing well so maybe his play can rub off on the third line guys.

This is a better lineup with the added players. Not sure i understand Giroux back at center but who am i to question AV.

Now just go score some damn goals. Oh and please stop the puck too. I would prefer Pitlick in the lineup over Stewart.

25 James van Riemsdyk - 28 Claude Giroux - 11 Travis Konecny
23 Oskar Lindblom - 14 Sean Couturier - 93 Jakub Voracek
21 Scott Laughton - 13 Kevin Hayes - 49 Joel Farabee
12 Michael Raffl - 24 Mikhail Vorobyev - 44 Chris Stewart

9 Ivan Provorov - 15 Matt Niskanen
6 Travis Sanheim - 61 Justin Braun
53 Shayne Gostisbehere - 8 Robert Hägg

37 Brian Elliott
[79 Carter Hart]

Power Play 1: Giroux, JVR, Farabee, Voracek, Gostisbehere.
Power Play 2: Lindblom, Couturier, Konecny, Provorov, Niskanen.

Scratches: 18 Tyler Pitlick (healthy), 55 Sam Morin (healthy).
Injured non-roster: 19 Nolan Patrick (migraines).

This might be one of the last chances for Ghost to produce offense of some sort. We all know there are far better defensive options. Ghost simply has to produce pts to keep his spot...and time is running out. At least Morin would provide something of value.

Starting Elliott signals Hart and holds him accountable....I can't argue with that.  Stewart...don't get.  I am wondering if management sees a Patrick return in the next few weeks?  His return would bring more shuffling. I will be at work tonight; look forward to the board's take post-game.

I thought having Stewart on board would spare the youngins of healthy scratches/limited playtime and allow for farm development.  That may still happen.  Under a worst case. the guy is waived and claimed.  Meanwhile, I suspect coming weeks will bring further line juggling.

He's going to play about what? 10 minutes? I'm not worried about it. This team has deeper problems.

Why do they let Voracek carry the puck up ice? He doesn't know when to dump the puck and causes offsides,  holds on way too long and constantly turns it over. It didn't take him long tonight to turn it over. Im beginning to hate him.

Interesting you say that. During the game, I kept thinking, "well, I guess this is the year that the torch is passed from the older guys to the younger guys."   Also, PP2 looks soooo much better than PP1.   Oskar in particular is a possession beast.

Sometimes a good coach can eye something.   Like... you're rushing this or if you skate a strike first or drop your shoulder here.... Something to make their opportunities count more.   Once they start it, it starts to move on it's own momentum.
