I also thought it was solid game by Rubtsov even though limited on the 4th he had very sound positioning despite his youth vs the Devils.

At some point during the Leafs game I would love to see him replace Raffl on the 3rd line LW spot he will give them another faceoff option and some much better firepower there.

Raffl is better suited for the 4th.

I didn't watch the whole game but I agree on Ruby. I liked his attack angles and he had a presence, limited as his minutes were.

I think Travis Sanheim is taking over the old Hartnell down role guy just can't stay on his damn feet.

He had Nico pin good last night along the boards till he just falls down on his own and let's Nico go who sets up Vatanen goal.

He has to work on his balance it's terrible and costly.

Ya...and with the great D both teams are playing ...I predict a 12-11 loss for the Flyers.

Well, I'm up for some 80's style hockey tonight.   With the Leafs, it'll go like this:

Toronto will have an 11-2 lead going into the third, will give up 9 unanswered goals, then it'll go to overtime and it'll be a coin toss to see who makes it 12-11.  :)

It's crying shame how the line of JVR/Giroux/Vorachoke is holding this team back.

23.5 million in cap space being taken up and the last 2 games those 3 clowns have ZERO points.

EMBARRASSING!

I almost forgot about JVR. He'll get a double hat trick tonight against the Leafs for sure. Fear not.

I glanced at the Flyers forwards quickly (really quickly) and all I saw was:

  • Raffle
  • Frisbee
  • German
  • Rubics Cube

Didn't take long for Spezza to become a healthy scratch now did it?

I thought Spezza's shelf life as an NHL'er expired about two seasons ago. And I am sad to say that because I've always liked him as a Sens player and early into his Dallas career.
He definitely is no longer top six material, and what's left of his skillset doesn't really lend itself to being a bottom six grinder either.

I wondered at first of the wisdom of turning away Marleau...then signing Spezza, when I think Marleau is a more viable NHL'er, but then, the Leafs have to be very cap cognizant and Spezza is dirt cheap compared to even Marleau, and well, they are getting what they are paying for in this case.

Maple Leafs have lost eight of their last 12 games after starting the season 2-0-0

Well that's discouraging.

Nothing like playing the Flyers to snap you out ya funk.

Wasn't last year that they played the Yotes who hadn't won in 10 games and guess what happened....

...I won't tell you I'll just leave you in suspense.

Way too many leafs jerseys in here. Oh well, you can never have too much toilet paper

💩

LOL

I'm 2/3 through a nine hour layover at Pearson-Tronno. Half the passengers coming off the plane this morning were wearing Leafs stuff.

I'm rocking the O&B at the airport bar with my new Flyers hat from HHOF

Also had my pic taken with the Cup bcs the 7374 and 7475 Flyers panel was facing the right way.
