IllaZilla
Oh, stop it, Carter. That was not a highlight reel save. He gloved it on the side of the net. If he had let it go it would have hit the side of the net. Edited November 27, 2019 by IllaZilla
IllaZilla
You know, for having a rookie goaltender, you’d think the Wild would tighten up the defense to help him out...
MNSOTA
Man, this is one of the most powerless power plays I've seen in a while.
IllaZilla
What the heck kind of powerless play was that? They spent the entire time in their own end.

MNSOTA
And the league just admitted that they screwed the pooch on our challenge of Simmonds' goal.

I love how both BRAD MEIER AND THE WAR ROOM missed this. For crying out loud, does no one have a copy of the NHL rules with them?

ClusterChuck
Good game overall. Congrats to Kahkonen to get that 1st win out of the way. Edited November 27, 2019 by ClusterChuck
Alexandron
WILD WIN!!! with the first win for Kahkonen, by stopping 32 out of 34 shots. The entire team celebrated with him his win. Koivu gave to Kaapo his first NHL puck taken after the game.
Alexandron
I was able to listen on KFAN radio a second period during my driving from work, and a 3rd period I watched on TV. 4 points out of 3 road games in 4 days - not a bad result, I think. CreaseAndAssist
Wild Overcome A Controversial New Jersey Goal to Earn a 3-2 Victory Better energy than I expected. The team did a decent job of circling the wagons around Kahkonen. Not sure I'd say he's NHL ready, he was really fighting the puck. The NHL rule thing is pretty galling. We're sorry? C'mon...that's complete garbage. Call in, correct the call and take care of it. To let it stand is ridiculous. What a play by Greenway, hopefully we see more of that. Fiala actually had a pretty good game too. I didn't like seeing Parise out there late in the game, I know its 6-on-5 but shouldn't we keep faster people out there. Also, on that speed note...I think Zucker may be hurt. He seemed to be laboring tonight. My guess is a groin or a hip flexor, just didn't have any explosion like he normally does.
ClusterChuck
Really glad to see Greenway take it to the net like that. I was expecting a pass. Hopefully that gives him some confidence to keep doing that.

Maybe Zucker is hurt(hope not) or maybe exhausted to play 3 games in 4 days in explosion manner . It seems Fiala is getting more and more confidence especially when he plays with veterans Parise and Koivu. I still wish that he will shoot more instead of looking to pass to someone. Anyway, it seems he could be a pretty solid playmaker. Agree Greenway and even Donato is getting better and better. Experience and chemistry for all youngsters are crucial at this time of their age.
lynxrattle
Our youngsters coming through. Fiala, Greenway had a very good game. Eek Kahkonen Donato good enough. KK looked better along the way but needed the help of the posts. It would be nice to see him against a better team than NJ.
