Mikko Koivu Delivers in 3-2 Shootout Victory Over the Stars in 1000th NHL Game

Another pretty solid performance against a team that is much better defensively than what they faced against Ottawa on Friday.  Minnesota played smart and made the power play count in a game where time and space were tough to come by 5-on-5.  Fiala had a fantastic game.  I also thought Soucy and Brodin were superb too.  Huge win, and by far the most emotion we've seen out of this team in a long, long time.  Check it out!

Brodin very fluid skating and stick handling in the third and overtime. The more I isolate his play while watching the Wild, the more I am impressed by his skill and decision making.

For years all the attention has been on Dumba, Spurgeon, Suter For various reasons.

Yet all the while Brodin has been going about his business quietly and improving each year.

I've been saying this for years (Not bragging at all) and I couldn't understand why people weren't seeing it.

Plus he's an outstanding skater. I tried playing D and some of those backward crossover moves probably gave me my 1st big concussion. :P

With Spurgeon and Dumba both sputtering on their offensive skills which lessens their rating in my book, Puts Brodin as our #1 D guy.

Brodin could very well be Klingberg. What's stopping him - Suter?

Brodin doesn't shoot the puck. He's never been known as a scoring defenseman, even back when he played with Farjestads BK before he was drafted by the Wild.

Last season (2018-19) was the first year Brodin had over 200 shot attempts. Klingberg has never had less than 200 shot attempts, even in his rookie season (2014-15).

Blame Suter all you want, but some guys just don't shoot the puck...

I don't blame Suter. I was referring to Brodin's diminutive role on the PP. He has tools, giving him more PP time makes sense. And Suter giving some of his own time to Brodin makes even more sense.
