It's a loss no matter how you slice it. So both Vorobyiev and Kase in the lineup. The key is McKinnon: can Coots shut him down?

Going to be hard since they get last line change.

So Kase is going to play without practicing with the team AV says.

I hope he plays well.

That is the 9th rookie the Flyers have played this year.

Should be an interesting game.
Avalanche look like they are completely healthy and the Flyers will get their full force.

Provorov-Niskanen will have their hands full with that top line of Colorado's.

Flyers could possibly exploit the Avs bottom pair (Rosen-Barberio) if Philly's bottom six guys can establish a good forecheck and just keep throwing stuff at the net.

So are you saying adding ANOTHER rookie to the Flyers lineup is not a good thing?

:whiteflag:

Well, on the surface, that WOULDN'T be a good thing....however, sometimes you just never know.

While throwing a newbie 'to the wolves' wouldn't be the way most GMs draw up a plan, sometimes, you just gotta know what you have.
Your rookies may surprise you (and the organization).

Man, that's gotta be insult to injury...
Matt Calvert is a major pest, looked like he started to get under the skin of the Flyer defense, THEN he goes and scores the opening goal.

Flyers best not focus too much on him though....that will play right into Colorado's hands...too much attention on the likes of Calvert, not enough on MacKinnon's line.

Can Philly turn up the physical play overall? Turn the game a bit into a grind? That might be the way to go against the Avs.
Keep things from becoming a track meet, and take shots whenever they can.... Colorado's defense is susceptible to that sort of tactic.

Robert Hagg looking a bit nasty early on against Colorado forwards....that may be a good thing too.

Carter Hart playing his arse off.
Flyers need to get that young man a goal or two of support.

1-0 Avalanche after 1, but if not for Hart, could have easily been about 3-0 Colorado.

Well they want to be the best they have to learn how to skate with the best.

Lucky to be down only one.

Hart stood tall and kept them in it.

It be nice to get him a goal to work. And two would be even better.

Somebody call the Ottawa State Police....
Hart just robbed Rantanen at glove-hand point....

Shame on you, Hart!!
Stealing goals away from a starving goal scorer like Rantanen.
On a 3 on 1 no less.

Game is STILL 1-0 Colorado.
Get him a goal or two Philadelphia...….now...

Hagg in no mans land. 2-0. JVR is just brain dead. He’s skating like a starving zombie. This Colorado goalie has gotten his own share of luck.

Hayes should have at least been in position to lift the stick on Rantanen….didn't need to "interfere" or take any other kind of penalty, but if ol Purple had his wits about him (he didn't), he could have prevented that easy tap in by the Colorado forward on the Avs' 2nd goal.

Right you are there. Don’t foresee much of a response at this point

The new heart and soul(s) are both out of the lineup tonight.....

...has the guard already changed right before our eyes?

If you are referring to Konecny and Lindblom, I was thinking that way as well.
Those two young players are SORELY missed in this game.

You're talking about your two leading scorers....not many teams can win without their two leading scorers.

Well they better look in the mirror and no one coming to save them...they all they need they all they got...it that how the old saying goes.
