MNSOTA wrote up the game preview and I'll be on the post-gamer.  The team has had a little time to rest from its road trip and now has small 3-game homestand.  Will the momentum return or has it cooled off completely after their loss in Carolina?  We'll find out tonight...enjoy and discuss...

I think BB liked more Donato as a center for the 2nd line( Parise-Donato-Fiala). Hope , that line will start producing permanently. Rask was moved back to the 4th line last game and probably will be there tonight too.

Sturm was reassigned yesterday back to Iowa, which means we will not see him this week.

More news.According to Michael Russo, Koivu will skate  only for his 1000 NHL game ceremony at 19:08 p.m., but will not play for a couple of weeks because of his injury. Sturm was sent to play tonight a game in Iowa, but will come back later this home-stand . Woodbury native Brenan Menell will play probably next game. And looks like Kahkonen is going to start his first game on the home ice tonight.

The only right thing to do.

(shrugs)  Right thing to do?  Just to give Stalock some rest.  But sure...play some of the kids.  You'd almost think they'd want to wait for Koivu to be healthy to give him a tribute, but they must be desperate to sell some tickets for this game.

Again news from Russo. Brennan Menell will play tonight too and he is going to be our 28th Minnesota-born player to play for the Wild team.

Be interesting to see if they go back to the short passes and grinding it out or if they continue to try and force the stretch passes and play run-n-gun...

I didn't see the game in Carolina is that why they took a beating?

Yes. They kept trying to skate with the younger, faster Canes and got their lunch handed to them.
Sad thing is, during the intermission interviews they were saying they needed to stop trying to skate with the Canes and play their (The Wild’s) game...

Honestly, they should have brought in (or at least done a video interview) of Risebrough and Lemaire.

But isn’t this exactly what happened last season more or less? Lose Koivu and a defenseman and the team immediately circles the drain...zero depth...

It's a shame - we did just 1 shot during entire first period vs 14 shots of Ducks.  I do not remember that for a long period of time. They are not capable to play their game. Hope, our players did not taste any champagne before the game in celebration of Koivu's achievement of 1000 NHL games.   Ducks complete domination so far.

I always called him Skouba, because he was like Kuba 2.0.
