The Islanders may not seem as formidable as Colorado but they play well defensively and rarely get outworked. Outworking teams has been the Wild's M.O. lately and this will be a pretty good test. Enjoy and discuss...
Alexandron
Interesting how fast Xcel Energy Center prepared the ice arena for today game against Islanders (5:00 p.m.). I was yesterday till late evening (almost 7:00 p.m.) with my family for the 1st time to watch Tampa's American fantastic heavy rock band Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the Xcel Energy Center, St.Paul,MN (one single concert). The whole arena (I think at least there were 19,000.00) was practically full including the ice covered with a floor, where it was placed about 50 rows of chairs there too. Superb transformation of some Christmas classic music into the heavy metal rock musical performance is an outstanding talent of the entire group of musicians, singers and the technicians involved into the pyrotechnical effects synchronized to music and video. IMO, it is really merit to visit that band alive. Here is a link to read about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Siberian_Orchestra

TropicalFruitGirl26
Wild must lead the league in GTFFOC (getting tossed from face off circle). They seem to be coming alive now in the shot department. That 4 on 4 opened things up for them. Isles were doing a good job getting in shooting lanes prior, the two less guys on the ice seemed to favor the Wild. Still no score though. Varlamov is looking sharp. Starofthenorth
A couple of weak goals against hopefully the wild recover and come back like they have been doing recently.
ClusterChuck
Just got home to see the 'highlights'...Where was Dumba on that 2nd goal? Oh yeah, About 15' away from his man. Looked like a decent game tho for the 1st 2 periods.

When ny got the puck he stood there like he couldn’t remember how to skate backwards. Then when the play went past him he chased his man to wall instead of dropping back. The highlight reel doesn’t show everything.

The highlight reel doesn’t show everything. The one I saw showed (I think # 77 Hunt) following the play towards the corner. Really doesn't matter tho if the pass gets towards center and the opposing player has no one around him. That's on the other D to cover or at least be "close" and in this case it happened to be Dumba.
Tomdog
Hartman became the d man when he switched places with dumba on the scissors cycle. hartman froze and got caught flat footed trying to skate backwards.

Ok, The film showed (from about the blue line) one man covering as I thought should be and no one on the other. I wasn't specifically picking on Dumba but wasn't surprised it was him. Just reacting to no one near at all. Didn't matter which D line.
