Hey what would he have done without Giroux skating down with him looking for the pass??

:thankyou1:

Ha ha ha!

Priceless!

He's doing what Giroux should be doing

Huge win coupled with Columbus and Florida losses.

Great start to a crucial stretch of games.

Lyon was good when he needed to be. Farabee is talented.

Our Captain is invisible.

Why drop him and have him disrupt another line??

I think it's up to JVR, TK and Giroux to find a way to get on the board.

The talent is there only they can figure it out. No one is coming to save them. Time to earn that check.

He is, but in fairness to players everywhere, you and I could have put both those in yawning cages. Coots is the real story behind both of those goals.

Nobody ever saw that potential in him when he put up 100 points in the Q as a 17 year old. Nope, never.

This has been a VERY real issue in the past.....

But on a more optimistic note, How bout that Pitlick guy....He's really turned out to be a solid addition to the line up! Hayes is earning his contract, laughton and Farabee playing well. Jake continues to SUCK SO GOOD....

I'll tell ya though....would be really nice to see the "Best player in the world" take control of even one shift!!!.....

Glad to have Flyers hockey back though....that was a LONG break.

plus if we had last year's verison of hart and elliot playing better we would probably be third in our division, our goaltending has not stepped up, this team has the talent we just dont have the goaltending. if we trade some of the vets, i think we should spend on goaltending in the offseason.

Hayes is earning his contract,

I like a lot of what Hayes has brought, but in terms of "his contract" he's making $9M this year on a cap hit of $7.1M.

Of 52 forwards with a cap hit of $6.5M or more he's 40th in total points and 42nd in points per game. 41st in +/-.

He has 1 more point and .02 more ppg than James van Riemsdyk. One point behind and .03 ppg behind Zach Parise.

Of 20 centers with a $7+M cap hit, he's 18th in total points and 19th in ppg. 20th in +/-.

Of 13 centers 30 or under with a $7+M cap hit, he's 12th in total points and in ppg (.01 ppg above Ryan Johansen). Also last in +/-.

Again, he's had a positive impact on the squad from the eye test, and clearly his two goals last night were important goals.

That said the question of whether he's "earning" his contract is probably up for reasonable observers to debate... Which I'm betting they will 😎

OH MY.....I did not realize this. (why did I think he was only making 6mil....must have been the average over the term?)

At a 9 million he should be able to dress as a back-up for Elliot!!....

How many of those third line centers have 3 shorties this year....all those guys are on the 3rd line you're references i'm sure. Right?

I made clear what I was referencing. Crystal clear.

Players who are forwards or centers making $7M plus.

Apples to apples to apples.

Looks like 28 players have 3+ shorties this season. Not all of them make $7M+

And your point was what exactly?
