WordsOfWisdom
To me, I think this trade makes it clear that the Leafs are going to be buyers not sellers at the trade deadline. I think there's probably more coming. The timing of this trade was critical because the Leafs season is currently on life support after tonight's loss to the Rangers. The Leafs have a soft schedule right now and if they don't bank some serious points in the next two weeks, they're done.
yave1964
Good pickup. Campbell is a capable backup and Lewis brings experience and grit to the 4th line.
hobie
Let's hope Campbell isn't a lateral to Hutchinson. His stats appear better but he tended for a team who's reputation was defend first, how will his stats endure in TO. Clifford like all aging physical players doesn't hit like he used to, no fights this year, yet still has 45 minutes in penalties. TO's PK isn't that good so is an undisciplined 3rd/4th liner with a waning physical reputation something TO needs, we shall see.

Clifford is a good lunch pail/blue collar type player...the Leafs need that. Campbell is better right now than a guy who can't play. Hope he's ready for the onslaught of shots the Leafs give up. He's not used to that.
Freddy the 13th
How long is Freddy out for??? Is it day to day?? Clifford will provide physicality. Campbell is awesome! I watched him play several times. With Quick aging I’m surprised LA let Campbell go!! Lets go LEAFS! hobie
I read somewhere that Clifford didn't have a fight this year then on TV it was mentioned he has had 3 fights this year.

Would Colton Orr have been so dum as to take that penalty tonite. Did TO exhibit greater courage because of Clifford? Leo hit everything that moved, did that make him effective? Did TO exhibit greater courage because of Clifford? Leo hit everything that moved, did that make him effective? I always thought Komarov was an effective player for the Leafs. Same with Kadri. It's difficult to measure (in terms of stats) the effect that the presence of a physical player has on the opposition. How much it disrupts their game to know that someone is on the ice looking to knock them through the glass.
