Minnesota gained 77 points in 69 games for a points percentage of .558 to finish tenth in the Western Conference. This will be the second playoff meeting between these two teams. Their only previous meeting was in the 2003 Western Conference Semifinals, which Minnesota came back from a 3–1 series deficit to win in seven games. Not that the Canucks are world beaters, but they are an up n coming team, and the Minnesota, well, at least they ended up where they were when all this craziness began...out of the playoffs.
