5/6 of the top 6 don't care about scoring a goal. they're playing like if they can pretend to give an effort, that's good enough.

They playing like they are ready to exit the bubble.

I guess we can be hopeful maybe they rebound next game it's a sure sign they haven't lost back to back games since January.

So we'll were they are at i was hoping for them to atleast win game one.

Hard to see them beating them now 4 out of 6 games now.

I knew something was up with this group and it wasn't just Montreal.

The core has quit...

Ghost for Suzuki

Mark my words.  Ghost will get traded and end up having 20 goal seasons after he leaves here and has a coach that understands he's an offensive defenseman with dynamic skill.

I swear, every time I think of the current Flyers PP it's the hunched over Provorov skating from the middle of the ice to his left, gets to the boards and shoots or dishes to Giroux.

Ahh.. forget it.  I'm tired of singing this song.

I'm also DONE with Giroux. Useless. Bench him and bring in somebody hungry. Vorachek non existent..Cooter nullified EASILY on offense. SMH!!!

Proof?  G has 5 goals in the 33 playoff games since the 2012 series against the Pens.  You know, the one where he started it off with a huge hit on Crosby in the game's first shift?  He has just 1 goal in his last 23 playoff games.

1 goal in his last 23 playoff games doesn't give me any confidence he's going to break out of a rut.  I can't even say he's "snakebitten" because I can't remember the last time he even had a scoring chance.

Danny Briere, he is not.

Certainly no Danny Briere.

Giroux's contract is up in 2 years.  It would be foolish to resign him as he'll likely want 2-3 years, which would bring him to age 37.  Better to trade him within the next 12 months while he still has trade value.  Wait any longer than that and other teams will just wait until he hits the open market.

giroux has a ntc but i guess the organization has to be tough like if he doesnt waive his ntc, he gets benched or sent to the ahl.

I'll start to worry when they lose tomorrow.   As for now, it was one game - a sh!t game - but just one.

When was the last time they lost 2 games in a row?  January?

Step back from the ledge.  Remember the goal for this season was to get to the second round to get the young kids some experience in the playoffs.   They accomplished that.    Everything else is gravy.     Yes Giroux, Jake and the others big guns need to step up but don't forgot who got them this far (minus MTL series).

I can't help but think that the four month pause is just like having the summer off and then having a slow start to the season.  Something that this core is known for.   Let's just hope they can find their skates before they get bounced out.

Having a health Lindblom and Patrick would have helped a lot in this type of situation.

We would end up losing Ghost in the expansion draft anyway, Provorov, Sanheim and Meyers are all going to be protected over Ghost. So we have to trade him. Sanheim and Meyers have offensive ability and are better defensively. Both of these guys can eventually become high scoring defensemen.

Lol, the number of firsts you would have to include to even get MTL to stop laughing would be 3.  Ghost is trash and no one wants him.

Montreal is desperate for defense, we can throw in JVR with Ghost. The thing is we don’t really need a right wing,  I believe Suzuki is a RW, we have Konecny, Voracek, Kubel and Pitlick, we also have Allison a potential scoring power forward. We are gonna lose Ghost in the expansion draft anyway. Meyers ,Sanheim and Provo will be protected over Ghost. Meyers and Sanheim are both skilled offensively and can eventually become big scorers and both are better defensively than Ghost.

It's a 7-game series folks, jeez man.

The Flyers are not playing well right now, to be sure. Except for that second period in last night's game, where we were all over them and just didn't score. Last time I checked, the Isles are a pro hockey team made up of pro hockey players of various talent and character. They are well-coached. Probably one of the best coached.

So the line between winning and losing is very thin. Let's just calm down a bit. It's exhausting walking up to the ledge and back again every game, every shift.

Sure didn't look like MTL was desperate for defense to me.  If they were, why would they want Ghost?  He plays offense, not defense.

Defense means defensemen.... there are offensive defensemen and defensive defensemen. They need an offensive defenseman, is that better for you.

And lol that we'll throw in JVR to sweeten the pot.  That's like trying to trade-in a used Lumina and saying I'll throw in my non-running Yugo to sweeten the deal.

Never underestimate the stupidity of GMs in hockey. Taylor Hall for Larson, remember that? If someone proposed that trade on this forum , everyone would laugh,  it it actually happened. Just because you don’t value Ghost, does not mean another team does not think he could produce like he used to in their system.

the frustrating part is the top guys not showing up, that's why we are not confident in this group. im telling you, we are not winning a cup with this guys. it's been 8 years, how more years are you going to keep enabling these players when they are tanking like the redwings and sabres?

I wonder if it is possible to package Ghost and JVR to some other team for a decent return...

Edit: I swear I made this question after reading your first post and then afterwards saw you suggested something like that.

Great minds think alike. I always knew I had a porn stars brain...

Those same guys were leading the best team in hockey when the pause happened. So was that just luck?

I agree that things aren't working well for them right now, but I don't see lack of effort.

Have a little faith is all I'm saying...

i'm calmer now. i was drinking last night and angry and disappointed with the "effort." i found a small bridge over newtown creek and jumped off it and now i'm pretty sure i have a bacterial brain-eating disease that's set some things in perspective for me.

HA good one thanks for the morning laugh...

...I'm going to just sit up here on the ledge till after tomorrow game...then I may come down if they win.

If not it was nice knowing you folks...

I think Ghost cab have some value to a team that can pair him with a solid stay at home type who is also mobile.

Let's be honest Braun is not a great partner and well Hagg is just to passive aggressive for me who struggles at times in his end and getting pucks out.

I hope Chuckles can find a landing spot.
