yave1964
A bit of this and that Jason Zucker crashed into the boards awkwardly in the third period against the Caps a couple of nights ago and according to his coach will be out 'long term' which is Hockey speak for..... who the hell knows how long. He has been a disappointment so far this year. Trevor Zegras has been recalled by the Ducks to provide what they hope is a shot in the arm to their pathetic offense. He is expected to play top six minutes and first power play right off the bat, he was an absolute monster in World Junior competition with 7 goals and 18 points in only 7 games (!) and took right up with the Gulls in the AHL with 9 points in 8 games. The kid looks like he has benefited by the Ducks choosing not to rush him. Jeff Skinner wil sit tonights game against the Devils and will be a healthy scratch for the third consecutive game. He has one assist and zero goals on the season. He has seven years at nine million per year AAV remaining on his deal. I meant to prorate it out over a 56 game season to see exactly how much per game the Sabres are paying him NOT to play for them right now but it made my brain hurt. Anyone who did not see this coming when he had his big year ahead of free agency was a fool or a junkie. Or both.

Maybe the Preds and Sabres can get together and trade Skinner for Duchene? Not sure they will move either of those two contracts otherwise.
lynxrattle
Against the Wild earlier this season Zegras was the only Duck that stood out. I wonder if the Ducks know what they are doing by having him off the team in the first place.
