Can't help i was an Eagle fan first i do live in the southern united states.

 

But i love my Flyers too.

 

And it goes both ways Flyers still have a whole season to go and it's playoff football.

 

I'd do the same if possible the Flyers were playing a playoff game and the Eagles were just playing a regular season game if watching the playoffs first.

 

But no more football for me fore quit some time, so it's HOCKEY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Flyers!!!!!!!!!!!

I have watched only two Super Bowls the only two the Eagles were  in.

A young QB did well but experience won out. I do think he will be better next season. 

For the Flyers good for the Eagles not so much?

The consensus for JVR to go was high. Looking back which is easy to do now it does not look good. I have fired Holmgren over a hundred times but now the  team  looks better and I guess I can wait till I fire him again.

Yeah it was worth while staying up late to see exciting games for a change. Hope the Flyers and all out there have a good New Year.

wow.. gotta say.. i'm pretty surprised by this one. I mean... that would seem to be a hit the league would want out of the game. I guess now they're saying it's quite alright to take a few strides into a player who's a few feet from the boards. I mean.. suppose he broke his neck? just because it didn't happen... doesn't mean it can't and won't next time. but, ok.. i guess that's fine. 

No surprise Shanahan does not like the Flyers and if he can go against them on a close call he will.

they blew a 3 goal lead in the third period of a game they easily should have won.

things might have been fine at one point in the game, but who cares. you are what your record says you are - not how you "look" losing.

 

it is clear to me that the team needs to be gutted. it is also clear to me that Gomer needs to not be in charge of the rebuild.

 

lastly, i think chief's precepts about how to play the game are right - he just needs better players. faster, tougher...

Streit 1 Streit 2 Streit 3 I said it on another post 3 Streits you're out. Having said that one man does not lose a game and there is enough blame to go around for  the play on the ice. Looking for the perfect shot all the time just doesn't work. Shots from the point without a man in front of goalie is a waste. Most goalies will see that shot and gobble it up. Some believe that faceoffs are not important  the difference in the last game was  awful. Get in the game boys!

There is an old saying pick your fights. The other guy has a rep for agitating and just plain stirring things up. Rinaldo should have know this and acted accordingly.

Where did you read that? I said Streit has not done the job. Gustafson is still more suited for the AHL at this time.

Watch every one of them... Streit has not lived up to expectations but nowhere near as bad as Gus has been.

Flyers vs Rangers ring a bell???

That was an unusual season right up to the end. There is always the exception to the rule but not as often as one might think.

No compromises the Shoot out should go. Has there been a legitimate study on the affect it has on the standings or it is just for the non purists of the game?

Welcome to the grind it out style of the East it's been taking a toll on the Flyers for decades a different ball game than the wide open run and gun in the west.

 

I think it was one of the culprits from keeping a Cup out their (Flyers) grasp in the playoffs in 2004 that Tampa went on to claim the prize for the mash unit known as the Flyer's blueline....was the biggest reason they didn't go to the finals or that is my opinion....however it's nice to see the shoe on the other foot...i'll take it.

 

Flyers were a different team in the 3rd for sure could have used more of that verse Minny the other night.

You are right that team was decimated with injuries Roenick was on the ice and had no idea where he was .

The win was also a result of what so many of us having been saying all along. Get somebody  in front of the NET. Hockey 101 goal tenders  don't like the other teams backsides  in their face.

Striet has not earned any o fhis money yet. Kimmo is an old D and I don't expect much  from him but he does jump up now and then.

Goalies love shots from the blue line as they have plenty of time to react. Flyers bread and butter is at the net with Hartnall or Simmonds in front of the net. Dornhoffer wherefore art thou?

As somebody posted earlier Voracek needs to sit one or two out.

First line is he Hoyudini line they do a disappearing act too often.

Would expect to see a little more time in their end.
