I'm torn...of course it'd be nice seeing a "hometown guy" playing for his favorite childhood team, but does it fit into what the organization should be doing right now? (Rebuilding/tanking for Bedard)

I'd like to lose some dead weight (JVR, Gustafsson, Ghost) but that seems unlikely. Call me crazy but I'd like to see Ristolainen from Buffalo. I've only seen him against the Flyers but I think he'd do better here once we get our act together

Jammer, at one point I sketched a cool little alternate logo taking inspiration from the "Flyers" name, and used a side view of a plane much like your Spitfires logo, but crossed with the familiar "Flying P".

I've defended Holmgren quite a bit but I really cannot wrap my head around buying out Briere and then promptly signing Lecavalier. We get rid of two aging guys with crazy contracts, Briere and Bryz, then you go out and immediately court VLC simply because he's out there and it seems a lot of teams were going after him? Another reason why Hexy is a breath of fresh air.

"Mixing it up with the law" I think people are blowing this way out of proportion. If he slugged an officer, then I'd be worried. And another poster said what if the officer was gay? How would G even know?? It was dumb, obviously, and a stupid decision, but I'm sure we all did stupid things at that age.

I said this in another thread... but, to me... it's concerning. You can dismiss it as harmless tom foolery and maybe it will be just that. Time will tell. However, G is the face of your franchise and mixing it up with the law while drunk is just a bad bad sign man. This certainly points to a problem with alcohol which tends to get a lot worse before it gets better. IF it gets better. Now, I'm not saying he's an alcoholic who needs to be saved before he kills himself, but ... it does point to a problem that needs to be addressed now.

Fans will complain no matter what. We finally have a GM taking his time, who seems to have some semblance of a plan and people are complaining? Homer would have gotten into a bidding war for Orpik and he'd be signed to 10 years, $6.5 mil/ year. (jk, i don't think Homer was THAT bad)

 Put it this way...out of 51 goalies listed on NHL.com for goalie stats last year, Emery was 43rd out of 51 in both Save % and GGA. His numbers 2.96....just under 3 goals a game allowed and .903 are putrid. Literally, any other goalie who played last year would give us a better chance to win. That is not even discussing the side to side movement which has become totally laughable. So yeah....he was *that* bad.....lol..

I wonder how many of those games played were during our horrible streak at the beginning of the season, while the two were sharing the load more equally than towards the middle? The stats don't lie, but I don't remember that many games where I blamed Emery for the loss. That isn't saying too much though with how our team defense was most nights.

I know it's a bit disappointing we didn't get a different back up but is Emery really THAT bad? Personally I would have preferred Lindback who signed at 950k, but I think we have bigger issues.

He's a valuable trade chip. I guess it was in jest but this rumorddoesn't mean they're desperate to get rid of him. He did blossom after he left though (what else is new?)
