It will count, but it won't be a true measuring stick against Crosby since Crosby didn't play a full season. The scoring contest is open for all players, but realistically five players will vie for it at years end. Sorry can't be your darling, maybe see what Crosby is doing?

Yes, that's true, but what I meant was when Crosby and Giroux play a full season and Giroux takes the crown and then he can be mentioned as the king.

Maybe in in a couple of years Giroux could be as good as Crosby, but until he takes the scoring crown, Crosby is still the best player out there. Giroux is a lot more responsible defensively and doesn't whine like Crosby though. It will be scary if does unseed Sid the kid.

There is alot to be excited about for years to come in Philly with Giroux blossoming into a super star right before our eyes. The potential of JVR, Schenn, Voracek, Simmonds, Read and Couterier (who could possibly be the next Giroux?)the veteran presence of Jagr, Pronger and Kimmo and a wiser Hartnell, I believe Bryz will come into his own soon. There could be a lot to be excited about this year, who knows?

I'm not too worried about Bryz just yet, I think he will get it together soon. He let in a couple of softies tonight and made a couple of huge saves, even and we win. He should play more than four games in a row to get in the groove of things.

That's good for me on the west coast, I'll have a chance to see the Flyers once a year in Vancouver. Would be nice if they put it back to New Years eve game again.

Why not keep the starter fresh and the backup somewhat active? Bob played well, but again the team defense didn't show, and played on the PK for what felt like half of the game. Lavy is keeping the back up fresh, as Bob has started the 2 out of the last 3 games. The whole team didn't show up for the first half of the first period, they looked intimidated, getting beat to the puck and easily knocked off the puck. I would have started Bryz, no matter what he said, just doesn't make sense to start your back up goalie against a team that has had our number recently.

I didn't understand the Bobvrosky in net thing either. We are playing a team that has our number and he puts in the back up who sucked last time we played them. I know there is a rotation, but starting Bryz for 4 or 5 in a row wouldn't hurt him.
