Can we give to the Wallstedt a bigger tougher nut - Avalanche tonight? Just to see how good he is against that team, against MacKinnon, Macar, Rantanen....

Another goal for the team, which doesn't mean a lot - to finish the season with 40 wins and at least with 90 points. Ours 37 wins and 83 points don't look too good for the fans. Plus build a chemistry, chemistry and again chemistry in remaining 5 games. Can's believe that next season we will see only in October. Such an enormously long break is patiently waiting for us. We didn't have that for the last 10 years.

I feel like giving Wallstedt a chance would be good for him, and possibly his confidence, bit I don't know if he is ready for THAT kind of challenge, especially against a team that is near the top of the division/conference.

And then later on, you'll see someone barely tug on a player....and get called.

That's the kind of inconsistency that drives players, coaches...and fans...crazy

It's annoying to see how many no calls teams get, it infuriates the heck out of me. I get the refs are human, but some are just blatant no calls when a ref is just standing next to them and watching the situation go down.

  3. The Minnesota Wild have made some big trades so far in the offseason. One in particular I didn't like.

1st: Minnesota trades a 2021 Conditional 7th Round Pick to the Penguins in exchange for Nick Bjugstad.

2nd: Minnesota trades Eric Staal for Marcus Johansson

    3rd: Minnesota trades Devan Dubnyk and a 2022 7th Round Pick for a 2022 5th Round Pick

4th: Minnesota Wild trade Luke Kunin and a 2020 3rd Round Pick for Nick Bonino, 2020 2nd round pick, and 2020 4th round pick

  4. The Minnesota Wild have had their share of good and bad over the last 20 seasons. The team went the furthest into the playoffs in the 2002-03 season when they went as far as the Western Conference Finals and got ultimately defeated by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. They drafted the longest tenured captain in franchise history, also the longest tenured player in franchise history with Mikko Koivu in 2001.

Ok lets look at the first decade of the team's existence. They went to the playoffs 3 times with 1 ending up in the Conference Finals. The Wild went through 2 coaches (Jacques Lemaire and Todd Richards). The Wild drafted Marian Gaborik was drafted 3rd Overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, also the Wild drafted Koivu 6th Overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Leipold also hired Chuck Fletcher as General Manager in 2009. Mikael Granlund (9th Round, 2010)

  5. Heard something on the NHL Round Table this AM. Of course the big news is BB getting fired however...and I didn't know this (maybe others on here do or maybe Russo talked about it..I don't listen to him), that BB was NOT going to renew his contract this summer as a coach. He was going to stay on as a consultant. Apparently that is in his contract.

They were talking about it and wondering if he was going to be part of the Wild next year as a consultant? They also thought there could have easily have been a blow out between him and Bill which was one of their questions and a point of their "round table" conversation. If Bruce would be back in the Wild organization. Considering it is in his contract. One of the points regarding the dismissal of BB anyway.

A conversational tidbit for the day....or not.. :)
