Yeah I looked at that wrong on my phone.

Let hope someone claims him and this drama will be over.

And they will still suck on defense.

    And then what?

Do you actually think any team will claim him though?

He is a defensive liability and his offensive numbers are not very impressive for the size of cap hit that comes with him.

I just don't see any team willing to take him on.

But hey, you guys think I'm nuts for thinking AV is a crappy coach so....... 😁

Yep. I mentioned that earlier. I would be OK with it, but not thrilled.

I'm ok with it as long as they send Hart down for the rest of the year so he can play with a good team and get his confidence back. Play Elliot and Bernier the rest of the year we aren't making the playoffs either way. Save Hart send him down.

  3. Could it just be a move to see if there is interest in him?

A team shows interest then Fletcher recalls him and tries to make a trade. Not sure if a team can recall said player though.

Or a salary dump to prep for a big trade, maybe for a d-man and a goalie so Hart can be sent down to get playing time with a good team.

AV has been to literally infinitely more Cup Finals than anyone on the Flyers roster.

But hey the Flyers just *might* make the playoffs this year so they've got that going for them.

I mean they managed to get two points from Buffalo, right?

I'll be the first to admit if I'm wrong about AV, but I'm not.

    Stay tuned for this sh**

show to continue till he is gone.

You guys all think the sloppy play is on the players. It's not it's AV's system. These players all made the NHL if they played that sloppy they never would have made it out of junior. AV and his assistants are the root of the problem.

    Wait and see.

Fire the coaches and keep the players and nothing changes.

Who would want to coach this squad?

Oh, wait, Tortorella may be available.

I'd pay for locker room and practice footage.

Not games. But something legitimately entertaining.

So what do you do? Cut all the players? Can't replace the whole team so start with the coach and GM and start a rebuild.

I think he has we saw them last year before the stoppage as one of the hottest teams in the NHL.

The difference is they aren't executing like they should, you can draw up all the plays and schemes all you want but at the end of the day the players have to recognize and process at an extremely fast rate they have to be on the same page and then execute what they are taught.

I wish my parents would have blamed my teachers in high school when i struggled in my sophomore and junior years with bad grades, because i was to busy chasing women than studying back in the day.

    That would have been nice.

But no they weren't falling for that because it was on me.

And only could fix it...thankfully 30+ years ago i did buckle down and get my grades up....

LOL, if you were paid millions of dollars to excel at school maybe the teachers would have changed their teaching style to help you to succeed.

  7. Although I still think AV is a below average coach you guys are making great points about our core being weak and leaderless.

I see your points and I do agree with them. But I still maintain that it is the coach's job to put a system in place that suits the players he has. It's Fletcher's job to bring in players to fit a system. If these two people aren't on the same page you get what the Flyers are now. A rudderless ship with no leadership.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when AV was in NY did he not have Messier as the captain?

On face value, NO. He is climbing the Flyer record ladder and will be remembered by his stats more than his results. It was suggested that being away from wife and kid last season really hit him hard. No fault there, but it gives insight to his priorities.  Im sure he can see a future in the organization long after he hangs 'em up

However, if the organization applies some pressure, makes a deal that will benefit him, and offers a home after he's done, i could see it

That IMO is another problem with the Flyer organization, keeping retired players around.

I think we are seeing the failure of Hextall's build from within vision, due to two indisputable facts:

    1.  Hextall never tore the team all the way down and built the assets up by trading Giroux, Voracek, Simmons, etc. when he first arrived.  There was never any chance those players were still going to be good when the young prospects developed.

    2.  Hextall failed to draft a single superstar and please don't tell me Hart and Provorov are superstars.

Hart will be, I have no doubt of that.

The coaching point is probably moot

I dont see AV going anywhere.

But I am curious why the other two wingnuts are still here.  Defense sucks. PP blows goats. Are they just collecting paychecks also?

You are right AV is not going anywhere as long as Fletcher is GM much to my chagrin. Good question as to why the assistants are still here.

Honest question, do you think Giroux would agree to be traded to a contender?

I can't speak for anyone else but this I dead on an issue that I have seen a lot and should have been addressed.

It is the equivalent of a WR worrying about running after the catch before he has even secured the football.

So it just boils down a lot to just fumbling the puck from never mostly because they don't even know what to do with it once they have it. Basically hockey IQ is my minds eye.

And that occurs a lot through out the lineup.

    Sloppiness. When does it end?

    How do they fix it?

    Only they can.

I think it would help if the forwards stayed a little longer. The d could make shorter passes and would have help if the puck is turned over. The long stretch fast break pass is great if you have dmen that can execute, we don't.

Sorry my dumb dumb meter is going off...

...I think what he is saying is the article aligns with his opinion.

Nothing wrong with that saves him or her not sure, a lot of typing to repeat it.

    I do it quite frequently.

Now that I think of it I might be setting off the dumb meter.

    Carry on.

The article does align with my opinion of AV, and yes it saved me a lot of typing.

Hey you guys don't agree with me and that's fine but I highly doubt you will change my mind.

Please, I'm genuinely interested.  You have my curiosity peaked.

Please in your own words describe AVs system and in what way you would suggest doing it differently.

Also, what is your lace count?

Well first thing I would do is focus more on defence. You have a young goalie who will be a star in this league but isn't there yet. You have defense men that are not playing well. Focus on your own end more before the fast break. Focus on the PP, it looks horrible. Try firing up the team not being so passive.

    Giroux is not a leader.

I have no idea what a lace count is.

I will always maintain AV is not a good coach once you start playing the same team's over and over.
