  1. "The biggest issue this team faces for the next 50 years with Bryz in net is the 'confidence' (or lack thereof) our players will have knowing he's back there every night in outer space" Really? The biggest issue? I think you're way off base.
  2. No doubt mkscrewey. Carchidi is a negative creep just looking for drama and hyperbole. People eat this slop up and look like fools for ripping our own players, IMO. What a stupid mentality to pile on OUR goalie when the guy is just being honest. Look past any positive, focus only on negatve. Repeat cycle. It's almost half this forum too, pretty sad.
  3. I think you guys are looking for a scapgoat and overlooking the fact the team had it's entire ass kicked the last 5 games. The team could not adjust to a 1-2-2 trap when NJ took a lead, no success in transition and no answer for the Devils strong forecheck. Bryz was solid enough most of the series, enough with the he should have made every save BS, it sounds like amateur hour. The constant blame the goalie syndrome around here is shortsighted, look at the big picture in this series and it wasn't the goalie who was the problem.
  4. Yea, you guys are right, they should have won every game 1-0. But don't let me get in the way of your circle jerk of Bryz hate, flame on -
  5. I think there are a lot of good points in here about the trade and I think it was a push. Both teams made out ok, perhaps one could argue the Flyers got better value with two contributors vs just one in Richards. In the long run I bet it's looked at as pretty even.
  6. Not a huge fan of Carter, but sure I'll root for LA. Not like they've ever won anything.
  7. So let me get this straight, the team plays like **** for 3/4 of the game and somehow it all comes back to the goalie? Yup, sounds like the Philly media looking for a story where there is none.
  8. You complain more than a woman VC. How about supporting the team and quit the relentless Bryz hatred? You look foolish with this **** every damn day. You overlook his good play and only focus on the goals he lets up. You overlook poor play in front of him but credit his decent play when the D is playing well. You ignore the solid Game 6 play and first period of this series but want to dwell on one bad goal. You ignore the second half of the season when he was lights out when it counted or the fact he played injured in the first series with a bone chip in his foot, but dwell on games he let in goals THAT WE WON. He's not Lundquist, get over it. You're constant negativity is too friggin much.
  9. Great point Jack, but unfortunately the Bryz hate can't seem to be stopped. Most are not happy unless they have something to constantly complain about........Bryz is just the low hanging fruit.
  10. Oh yea, I remember that one. That is an oldie!
  11. Crosby looks like a fool with the post-game comments, a plain fool. Man, these playoffs are going to start with a bang.
  12. Call me a homer, but I have never seen as dominant an overall player than Lindros was. Not saying he as better than 99 or Lemieux, but just a more overall dominant player. He had it all, except the ability to stay healthy mid-may through his career, which ultimately ended it too soon. One of the best ever.......HOF some day?
  13. I think that shootout goal last night is going to help Simmonds big time over the next few games. You could just see the relief and pressure lift off of him when he skated back to the bench, man was he pumped. Exactly what he needs right now and a GREAT call by Lavy sending him out there. He's been streaky this year and I think this may kick start another one. One thing that I have noticed is the complete lack of chemistry between him and Briere though.
  14. Indeed Andy, nice thread. Had he played a ****** game this thread would have over 20 posts about how he stinks, but as he continues to impress since Jan it seems crickets have taken over when he comes up - unless it is the usual group defending their bashing of the guy earlier in the season. Human nature I guess to complain when things are bad, but where is the support for this guy in threads like this? I'm staring to wonder if a lot of fans are indeed obsessed with the negative in this town as the national media loves to portray us. Then again most of this forum's members are not in the area, so there goes that idea. I really like Bryz, the guy is awesome. He's been owning the local media in the post game interviews lately too, last night with a nice zinger on Randy Miller when he was trying to get a comment on Bryz on the first goal (Bryz came back with a, "Nice recap" after Miller commented on the goal). This is as talented a goalie this team has had since Hextall and he is a pretty damn funny and likeable guy. Loving the play of this team right now, can't wait for the playoffs.
  15. True Idaho - it's real tempting to throw the negativity back at a lot of the posters in here who were all over this guy months back. I was guilty myself in the Bryz shutout thread telling guys to eat crow becasue I was KILLED months back trying to defend the guy. I guess it's just human nature to complain when things are not going right, but stay quiet when things are ok. Either way many of these dudes look a bit foolish now, and they won't own up to it in the least bit. Proud to boo players on your own team? And you wonder why I have to defend myself as a Philly fan half the time. I think its all water under the bridge, I just wish people would not overreact so much and drop the hate on players so hastily or when they are slumping. Patience is real tough for a lot of people in a world that is based on instant gratification more than ever.
  16. Pretty sad some of you are so stubborn you can't admit you jumped the gun on this guy and are so proud to have been such harsh critics. Sure he played bad, but you guys were ready to run him out of town in some jacked up mob mentality fashon. Panic buttons and knee-jerk responses rather than just relaxing and letting the season run it's coarse. Instant gratification or nothing, lordy. Just busting some balls back for killing me back in Jan when I was trying to support the guy. Water under the bridge......
  17. Two weeks, really?? Have you checked his stats since Jan? Try three months man! Not looking to argue with guys, but his treatment earlier in the season was that of the typical impatient goon fan that we are made out to be by ESPN. I think he deserved a bit more of a break and less hate, but thats just me. Now that he's coming around I think its obvious.
  18. Most of this forum needs to eat some serious crow. Guys with Bryzaster avatars, what a joke. I was called a troll two months ago because I was saying he'd come around and that everyone was overreacting - and I was killed for it. You can't judge a guy based on half a season, especially coming from the west and the whole 24/7 ordeal. Glad to see he came around and lets hope he rolls with this play into the playoffs.
