    I don't hate anything about breaking this to you, but Vinny has played 297 games in the last 5 seasons (including 47 this year). Gagne has played 193 during the same span of time and is currently doing interviews about how he wishes he was still playing. If Vinny is cooked, what does that make Gagne?

     

    If you want to discuss VLC's play and contract, that is fair game, but anyone saying they'd pick Gagne over Vinny is basing that on nothing more than nostalgia.

    Flip the coin V3 just like Homer Did.  What is your point and to who? I just stated that Vinny looks cooked.

    I hate to say it but I think you may be right about VLC... he just looks bad right now.   I am hoping it is a confidence issue but it does not look good.  

     

    I was hoping he could snap out of the funk but man it is very noticable down there watching him, he almost looks like he is playing hurt.

    Are you serious? My sarcasm wasn't even remotely subtle.

     

    Gagne is done and has been for several seasons now. Flyers fans clinging to this guy is pathetic, especially when they cry about VLC and Streit on a daily basis. I got new for you, as bad as their contracts are, both of them still contribute and are better options than a constantly injured player who was burnout by his late 20s. Hell, he had trouble staying healthy in his prime. If Gagne had no previous affiliation to this team and Homer went out and signed him there would be an uproar.

    I hate to break the news but Vinny is Cooked.  He plays like an Old Man out there and Streit is just OK sometimes. but we have all slammed the same guys on here so, so what? they stink..

    First period was good. I was encouraged. But then the Sharks showed why they are where they are in the standings and skated circles around the Flyers.

    As an aside, the biggest difference I noticed between NHL games and Olympic games is how long NHL games are. Man, way too many whistle stoppages, penalties, and TV timeouts seem at least double in length.

    Bad game to be at in person and many fans left after the 2nd period, the Ice cleaning with the skate girls gets more frequent starting about midway in the 2nd period, by the third period it seems like they come out every 5 minutes and that is overkill.

    The boys really got an earful from the fans and let them know how Pathetic of a Performance it was.

    We all knew the game was over after 2 periods, SAD......

    The team had a long scoring drought early in the season. +/- isn't just a defensive stat.

     

    Yes Doom88 I agree but it does say something about ok we can't score goals but we sure cannot play defense.. That is all.

    I am just frustrated by the lack of defense play by everyone, Like Al says, it's hockey 101.  I don't get it how they can be this poor in their own end with the puck, You could have Patrick Roy is net and the results would be the same as with Mason or Emery or Anybody....

    I know you are frustrared with the team as am I, however as one of the "bozos" STHs that keeps showing up to watch the games I reject the premise that Homer and Ed's actions are based on what we the fans do.  Ed is stuborn and arrogant becasue he is Ed.  Becasue they won 2 cups in the 70s he thinks he knows more than all of us. ("We dont need a fresh perspective, Out culture is to win" etc.) 

     

    Comcast has deep pockets and it is not like he is there looking at bottom line stuff to keep the franchise afloat.  If I give up my season tickets the Flyers wont even bat and eye and the only one I will hurt is me because I enjoy going to the games (even when they suck).  I boo them off the ice, I chant "Fire Holmgren" and rip the team when they are underperforming but in the grand scheme of things my opinion isnt going change Ed's and Homer's minds.  They are going to do what they do no matter what becasue they are who they are. 

     

    As far as making changes go...every time that happens Homer gets us in more of a mess.  I am done with major changes for a while as it keeps settting the team back (save for something that can help this defense).  As for lineup changes, Berube has benched guys when they are not performing, however I do agree with you that Luke Schenn deserves some time in the pressbox himself with Hal Gill. 

     

    Just to let you know I am a Bozo that has tickets to 11 games this season.

    To say we lost out on trade may be the biggest understatement of the past 3 years.   I can't take watching him play honestly.   How he was drafted so high is mind boggling.  

     

    I know Murray.  It is actually painful to watch him and not break the tv with some large object...  Man is that bad!

    Flat is a good word for the effort. 

    I am starting the believe that Homer and Ed do not give a **** as long as the bozos keep going down there to watch this garbage,

    How can they sit there, watch that team and not make changes, I have seen enough of Luke Schenn and it is time to sit him. Gus just sits in the press box wondering what the F$#@,  

    I think the Berube Effect is winding down and the players look distracted.   I Give Up.....

    I don't see a lineup of teams with good defencemen willing to trade them away. We've got plenty in the mediocre to lousy range, we don't need more of those.

     

     

    I know FlyersCanuck. it is so hard to watch Luke and Meszaros out there and it seems like most on here do not like Gustafson for some reason other than what? I give up.

    I sat next to a woman who has been to many of the same games and she hates Mason, god dammit why? Bryz would have been 2 more goals in yesterday before the end of the 2nd period.. I was like what do you want him to do, play stretch armstrong on a bang bang play....

    I wish Morin and Lauridson can come up.

    I think your claim that Gus is one of the best while sitting in the press box serving popcorn to Homer for 80 percent of the games proves my point. 

     

    Playing  50A% of the time and better than  Mark Streit,,,,     Yeah Mr, Streit....

    Then how many has he been sent back to the press box? He has been terrible dude when given the chance. If you can honestly say that Gus has been one of the best while sitting in the press box w a has been veteran... Well, maybe you think he wears a different number.
