Pavel Zacha was traded to the Boston Bruins by the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday for Erik Haula.

Zacha, a 25-year-old forward, had an NHL career-high 36 points (15 goals, 21 assists) in 70 games for the Devils last season. He is a restricted free agent.

Selected by New Jersey with the No. 6 pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, Zacha has 179 points (69 goals, 110 assists) in 386 games, all with the Devils, and no points in five Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Haula, a 31-year-old forward, has one season remaining on a two-year, $4.75 million contract ($2.375 average annual value) he signed with the Bruins on July 28, 2021. He had 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists) in 61 regular-season games for Boston last season, and three points (one goal, two assists) in seven playoff games.

Selected by the Minnesota Wild in the seventh round (No. 181) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Haula has 240 points (112 goals, 128 assists) in 534 regular-season games for the Bruins, Nashville Predators, Florida Panthers, Vegas Golden Knights and Wild and 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists) in 61 playoff games.

The Devils (27-46-9) finished seventh in the Metropolitan Division last season and have qualified for the playoffs once in the past 10 seasons.

The Bruins (51-26-5) were the second wild card into the playoffs from the Eastern Conference and lost to the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round.
