Honest Bender Posted July 21, 2017 Author Share Posted July 21, 2017 He was one seen as having a bright future, but last season he was just supposed to be holding down the backup spot for a year or two while Saros got a full-time starting workload in Milwaukee before Rinne's contract is up... Unfortunately he was so bad in his backup role that Saros had to come up and ride the bench for half of the season. What I don't like about this is that is shows how bare the goaltending pipeline is for the Preds. Milwaukee's tandem is going to be Lindback and Mazenec, seemingly no NHL future there. If Saros ends up being unable to step up after Rinne, Poile will have to find someone in trade or free agency which isn't always easy. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
