  1. OK,  sorry I made fun of your precious sports channel (that shows bowling, cricket, and cars going round and round and round over the worlds best sport) I know you're fairly new on here, but it's kind of a running joke that for a "sports" network they only show the bad side of hockey. And since I'm a fan, i really have no use for it when I can watch TSN carry ALL the sports I like.

So it's all about you? And heck with growing the game by cleaning it up and attracting a newer audience?

  2. The road of they do worse things? (Is there a facepalm smiley?)

You're knocking a sport because of officiating. I compared another sports officiating, for one, that you just ignored. Or is that the road of OTHER officiating?

First off this was a LEAGUE office decision to do nothing on a blatant intent to injure. That's what I'm knocking. The league office is always saying we don't want this type stuff in our game. Yet the guy does twice in few weeks and gets nothing. How are they going to get a guy to stop if he knows nothing will happen?

  3. So the officials in one sport are relevant, but in another they aren't? And it's ok for the players in other sports to commit crimes far worse than what Lucic did cause those crimes are irrelevant when it comes to you watching the game? Just trying to figure out where you're coming from here.

You know exactly where I'm coming from. You decided to take the road of they do worse things.

BTW the NHL has plenty of their own issues. They just better keeping it quiet.

  4. Really? So having refs getting paid off is better? How about murderers and rapists as the athletes? Or half the roster on every team juiced up?

    Sorry, I'll stick to hockey.

Yep and as I said 4th most popular at best. But great completely irrelevant point/argument.

  5. Okay so this is like three spears to the nads and a two handed slash behind the play by players already in this playoff season, and I've only watched about 7 of the games.   I can't say that I've seen as much of this kind of thing in the playoffs in prior years.   If the officials are not seeing this, the league needs to step in with more than pocket change as a penalty.  This is embarrassing. This is when we want the game to shine, not look like a group of thugs on ice.

There is no need for this in the game, none, its not even close to a hockey play, and its what gives our game a bad name. All you need to do is ask, what was Lucic's intent.  The only intent here is to make the other player hurt, period.  Maybe I'm being over the top, but this is the kind of thing that makes me very angry, and makes me lose respect for players and teams.  Not that I have much left for Boston, as this is what they do. If someone did this to a Boston player, Curley would have gone balistic in an interview about cheap and dirty play.

    Sorry, rant over.

No need to apologize! The POS should not have been playing today. Two names:

    Campbell

    Jacobs

A league officials kid plays for Boston and somehow they're allowed to pull thus crap.

A major player on the BOG's and his team is untouchable.

  6. And your name is old school Hockey?

Your comments seem to be very new school

In my day when you hurt someone you looked to see if they were ok. That's called respect. A lost art.

  7. Sorry, but since I was a pee wee hockey player, there were two basic fundamentals to playing the game: Keep you head up and your stick on the ice. I am just completely floored at how many people think that was a cheap shot and not a hockey play. Not that matter much, but Backes is FAR from an angel and would have made the exact same hit given the opportunity.

I feel like I am arguing the Lindros - Stevens hit all over again, but from the opposite side. The difference in this is that there was ZERO flying elbow / forearm shiver. It was a shoulder. Backes is the same height as Seabrook. Shame on him for not knowing he was in a playoff game and looking at his skates coming from behind his net with the puck. I take / make that hit every day of the week. I don't direct this to you personally, but for all that thinks this is a bad hit, go watch baseball (sorry TFG), table tennis or any other sport that is non-contact.

I have a solution! Take off the armor that players are wearing. Make hurt if you choose to make the big thundering hit. Not a popular opinion but effective.

  8. Now Keith can be a dirty bastard (but would love him on my team). I missed it; what did he say?

When Backes was struggling to get to his feet Keith was taunting him by saying "wakey wakey Backes"! POS

I don't know to load videos here otherwise I'd load it.

  9. For whatever it's worth, I loved the Kronwall hit.

And I don't think Seabrook realized until very late that Backes had fumbled the puck.

The bush comments from Keith after the hit were just that! Bush league!

    Wakey Wakey Backes

  10. I don't recall. I was just asking because I really simply don't remember. I've seen a couple write ups say he's not and then others not comment, do just kind of throwing the question out there because I don't know

I think I confused Seabrook and Keith?

  11. I'm sorry, I disagree with Millbury and his hand puppet again.

I liked the Seabrook hit. I realize the puck was gone, but I don't think Seabrook knew it and Backes acted like he still had it.

Principle point was the head, but he was low, there was no launch, and Backes turned into it.

I hate that we're taking THAT hit out of the game. No call until after the fact. I don't like the call and I don't like any supplemental here.

For some barbaric reason we lose sight of what a hit is supposed to do. Remove the guy from the puck not his head.

My problem is the Chicago fan thinking/saying the hit was a good one yet the same people blasted Kronwall's hit on Havlet!

  12. He's a repeat offender? I know he's been on the receiving end of hits that received suspensions but has Seabrook actually been suspended before?

You could be right? But I thought for sure he was a repeat offender?
