Thats a lot of scoring from all those embellished dives from the owner. Bitter.

First off... There is no bad blood between Thornton and Orpik. In fact they worked out together during the lockout.

Second... There was no interference so the refs calling anything would've been a travesty. Thornton should've had his big boy pants on and realized if the refs did miss something, the league would review it anyway.

Third... Orpik is no more responsible to answer for a clean hit than Datsyuk or Zetterberg. If he had a history if brawling then maybe I could see your point and say why not? But as it stands it would be like expecting Kessel to fight Scott, Datsyuk to fight Orr, and similar misapplication a of "the code".

Fourth... The true application of "the code" is if Orpik refuses the challenge (as he should), go after someone in your weight class that won't. Go drop em with Engelland and send your message that way. If you're so incensed and such a bad ass, what's stopping you?

Neither Orpik or the officiating crew did anything wrong here. They called Chara to try to cool tempers. They called Neal for his stupidity. The only responsibility for Thornton's assault lay with Thornton himself.

Brooks has not been in a fight since 2009 and was not going to w bertuzzi er, um thorton no matter what. The only way Glass or England is fighting thorton now will be in next years first tilt Im guessing as Thortons 5 mins will not be needed in the playoffs. Neal's hit was wrong but it happend to a deserving guy(neal should get a game at least).

Too bad we got the real flyers back in the 2nd. Now they've instantly become an absolute mess again. They wen from a forechecking machine creatin opportunities on the other end to an utter disaster.

Although for the first time this year I can legitimately say the refs are not helping. The penguins are diving like Louganis again and again and these gullible refs are falling for it left an right.

I would like to find them after the game so I can sell them the Ben Franklin bridge.

So now the Pens are getting homer calls on the road?....

No way in hell the NHL let's them win game 7. Its pure marketing. Watch the game and see what happens. If its close the pens will get the calls.

We both know from experience actually watching these games that that would probably be a blank thread. Those calls just don't happen in real life.

As the resident expert at cheering for a deliberately tanking team, have you any other advice? Does the pain eventually go away? You appear to have a good soul, so it doesn't whither away completely... do you have to put it away in a special place to protect it until the draft picks start rolling in and you can let it back into the light again?

Miller tripped the Dev's second shooter...I ddnt see it until the replay......not sure if it could have been called or if they would have allowed him to "re-do" the attempt....it was pretty blatant though(and smart)

The flyers try winning ever year. Rarely do they get lottery picks. The pens tanked for a few years and gathered their lottery picks. However , they are out of time now with the current roster. Letang and malkin are ufa after next season. With cap going down and expiring contracts after this year they need to trade away pieces or let them walk.

Is that the story you are still preaching..the pens "tanked"....Does this story have a shelf life or will this be the ONLY thing that matters? THANK GOD we have Shero as he is smart enough to make moves that will not cripple his team in the near future. So keep preaching about the tanking Pens. It's old news. Agreed on him looking out of shape. That was a terrible penalty too. Lavy sent the appropriate message though I think Hartnell should have taken more ownership of his benching than he did in his post game comments (something to the effect of it wasn't a message to him but to the team). Perhaps he is returning to his form prior to last year - I hope not. His skating has seemed to regress as well as his touch on those high slot shots he gets on the PP. Fortunately/unfortunately I think the Flyers have bigger concerns.

Schenn will get one game for wearing an Orange and Black jersey, and three for the hit itself. The kneeing penalty by Carter definitely should've been called. It wouldn't surprise me if got a game anyway for that, but then again he hit a Flyer so the league office will probably give him a bonus check.

Haha....just having a little fun. I mean, it was a different time way back then and teams seemed to be playing harder as a GROUP. Loyalty went a long ways back then.....I do not remember the flyers back in 1975. Saw my first Pens game in 78/79 but god they were not much fun and I was lucky the Steelers and Pirates were both winning at that time.

I remember the Flyers winning the Cup. Sadly, my memories are all in black and white. (On the other hand, at least we knew what our Cup winners' hair looked like--no helmets)

You've got 17 posts all snivelling over the Pens loss. How is that an asset? The league can't make the Pens win every year...enjoy the game even without them.

I am not a fan of Vitale and was not of the way Cooke played up until this year. He is a different person/player. W all the talent on the Pens any time he skated on the ice I was worried his brain would backfire and most of the time last season it did......Im just not a fan of any player like that,no matter which team he is on. Tough and energy are one thing but........Too much like a loose cannon for my taste(raffi torres light). Maybe he was your only option . I have no idea, but why was he not in the line-up for certain games V NJ?

If Rinaldo played every night then we would have been on the PK twice as much as we already were. I like Rinaldo but for whatever reason the refs target him and over a 7 game series he would hurt us more than he would help.

Where was the defense on that last goal? Bryz ain't gonna stop those shots when he's one on one like that. D needs to step up. A little offense would be nice too. Some balanced officiating would be even nicer. Ahahahaha......okay, maybe we have a chance on offense and defense, but never with the officiating. Giroux gets mauled, not called. Wow.. the golden boy is not getting his way and nothing says he is nothing more than belwo average in this series than a dirty elbo. Maybe if he shot the puck that hard he and his mates would be moving on instead of being abused by the devils.

He is a one trick pony and should be given a game for his cheap shot. if it were ANY team or ANY player that did that garbage b/c they were getting their a** handed the them, the flyers would be crying for justice...esp if it were a Pen.
