you'd guess correctly. My thought regarding him and possibly resigning him was that I'd hope they'd have given him less considering we found out his limits. Glad to see they didn't stupid on this one.
i don' love it either. I'd have loved the Flyers to get someone better that Leaky. That said, it seemed as though, among other things, the tremendous amount of distractions actually DID get to Bryz. Whether is was the media, pressure from Bob, fans, himself, 24/7, not playing the Winter Classic, getting $51 mil (10m last season alone) and then not really living up to it, what have you, hopefully is a thing of the past and he can maybe have a great season. agree 100%!!! haha
haha, well with Leaky as his back-up, maybe we can finally have a season without a goalie controversy. Wouldn't be the Flyers without one but even if he sucks, will fan really be clamoring for Leaky?
well, I'm sure most would agree he can only get better? Well, more consistent. With no real threat in the backup roll and a year to have gotten adjusted to the market and media, hopefully he gets to the Bryz we hoped we were getting!
this would be my thought. Management got a good look at Bartulis and while he's a serviceable call up/7th, maybe they just want to go in a different direction with what type of player they want filling that role.
I agree. I like the waiver rule. It absolutely works as intended. And I also agree that the re-entry should be lifted. having to risk losing a player on the way down is enough. In a sense, the re-entry rule works against it. If a player clears waivers on the way to the A, they might get stuck there out of a team's fear of losing the player on re-entry.
but I thought those scrappy agitators aren't allowed to exist on the Flyers. Anyone who even remotely fills that roll instantly has a target on his back and does more harm than good to the team. I like scrappy agitators. I love the energy and intensity they bring to the game so I'm not advocating the Flyers stay away from those players, it just seems any time the Flyers get one, I hear the above sentence more time than not when people talk about them. Hopefully the Flyers can land a player of that type and he's actually able to play that kind of style without being neutered by the league, coaching staff or whatever.
one need only look toward Devils pre-lockout for evidence of this. no, I am not that big of a fan of defensive games. that said, I am a fan of winning and if it takes 16 1-0 wins then guess what? I'll take it!
it sure didn't take long for the league to get back to this did it? Shame too. After the lockout it was supposed to go away but here we are and it's back and relevant once again. but it is here and you're right, Lavi most of all needs to adjust.
amen there brother. I enjoyed the high paced, high spirited and high scoring series, but at the same time, it made me crazy. I couldn't stand knowing that at any minute the tide could shift the other direction. Very entertaining hockey, just not how I want my team advancing through the playoffs. And that doesn't even take into account the wear and tear these guys endured along the way. by the way, now that Bob is a thing of the past, what will you do with your avatar?
i was going to add some optimism pointing out they played better on the road than they did at home but they had almost identical records home and away with exact same number of losses sounds grueling though
