  1. He's been playing great since Jan - where the hell have you been? Oh yea, overeacting to a slow start.
  2. yea, I looked at the rags schedule earlier in the week when NJ owned them - and they have it pretty easy in March. 7 home games in a row in the middle of the month to boot. The Devils, Penguins and Flyers all seem to be on a roll right now, but may be too little too late to catch up to #1 seed.
  3. I was just a matter of time until he came around, a lot of the criticism was way too harsh, IMO. Lets hope he stays hot through the playoffs too!!
  4. Dude has finally been playing lights out over the past month and now people need to complain about him showing emotion on the ice? Bryz just can't win, the fans have lost their ****** minds.
  5. Eskin is a first class ****** - but I believe him here. He gets the info right most of the time with they Flyers on these types of things. Either way I think Timo is back for the first round - and as Mad Dog said, the rest could be an asset for him if the team is going to make a run.
  6. Interesting read on Jerry, and a little sad for sure. Furthur is at the Mann on July 7th, last few years the shows there were fantastic!
  7. I agree OZ, to get out of a late season western trip at .500 is fine on my end too. Esp since they outplayed SJ last night, who they have not won against in what last 12 games against either, and they never win in Edmonton(been since early 2000's since they've won there I think). At home you'd expect 3-1 against these teams, on the road I'll take 2-2. Tough test will be March where they have a TON of games to play(most are home at least), 4 a week for most of it with back to back Sat-Sun games most of the month. Time to string off a nice 5 game win streak to solidify the standings and take some of the heat off. I think they come out and finish strong baby!!!
  8. Excellent point about his play being aggressive. In general, I think he's played more aggressive on this west trip than he has all season. Perhaps it is a response to his poor overall play, the intense media pressure or just maybe he felt great getting out back west and playing against some teams and in buildings he is familiar with. Either way I hope he keeps it up when they get back home. All he needs are a few hot games like last night, at home, and a lot of the pressure he's been dealing with will go away. Then the fans and media can find another player to hate on, alienate, boo or otherwise use a scapegoat for not being as good as the Rangers are(I kid, I kid...).
  9. I really like Brown and agree with Andy 100%. This would help the team by adding some grit and attitude for the playoffs. I think both him and JVR could use a change of scenery and could be a pretty fair swap.
  10. I don' t think the team has won in Edmonton in what, 5 years now? Losing out west is not the end of the world, let's see them steal one from Calgary Sat night and get some momentum for a big game in San Jose on Tuesday.
  11. For Gods sake do you people believe everything you read on the internet? This is whole thing is heresay that started on some garbage blog, there are no media or direct quotes from Bryz saying we care too much. Seems people are just looking for something/anything to form a lynch mob on this guy, sad. And great idea to go down there and boo, bravo to show such class and restraint as an adult. That booing sure will help OUR goalie turn it around, it couln't make the situation any worse or anything. I just wish the fans showed a bit more patience and could be a bit more happy with where the team is in the standings with all the injuries and rookies. Looking big picture, the season has been a blast so far and I can't wait for the playoffs. Focus on positive and get behind the guy, he needs it mentally. Complaiing about Bryz is beating a dead horse at this point and getting real old. So is my defense of the guy and plea's of restraint from the fans- I'm giving it a rest after this. B)
  12. Nobody is telling you to love the guy, but ripping him all day, piling on every issue and enflaming anger is only sabatoging this team whether you want to admit it or not. And you wonder why NY fans rip us for being babies and a-holes? Take a look at this and the Philly.com board, the way the fans act down here at the WF Center and the retarted local sports blogs. You'd think the guy was Sandusky for simply acting like a character and playing average - and we havn't even gotten through a round in the playoffs.
  13. No doubt X, I gotta admit some of these threads are just sad how negative the fans love to stoop and how thick people can get when reading into his quotes. They hate on every comment, boo him, ignore solid play, want to run him out of town, have something to complain about and seek out the offseason pity party about the goalie situation - I think deep down maybe thats what some fans really want. It's becoming the Philly norm to be the miserable, fickle *** hole fan who will boo at the drop of a hat and relish in anger and it sucks to be associated with that. I'm pretty sick of the negativity, is it too hard to just SUPPORT your players and seek out the POSITIVE (i.e the OT win last night and solid OT saves he made that led to the win)?
  14. In hindsight, that right pad save in OT was the game difference, and pretty darn good one to boot. Nice thread, although most people would rather find the bad, rip the guy, run him out of town and sit through the summer in a Flyers pitty party about how we have no goalie to bash. I think Bryz should give Pat Burrell a call and have a discussion how he went from the fan doghouse to leading the championship parade. Sometimes you need to embrace the very knuckleheads who are hating on you.
  15. Posted this in the other booing thread, but booing your own players is pretty pathetic, IMO To use the argument that you pay your money to see the game so you have the right to boo.......well, sure everyone has the right in life to look like an *** hole, I guess it's up to you if you want to act that way. you can pay your money and act like a normal human being or pay your money and act like a D!ck, who do you want to be? I think booing players on your own team is pathetic and makes the town look like the jerkoff animal fan base the national media portrays us as. Save the piss and vinegar for the a-holes on the other team you don't like- boo them like crazy.....but friggin support YOUR players. Otherwise we will never have any respect around the league. Look how we treated Lindros when he came back as a Ranger- a friggin disgrace. Carried the whole organization on his back the morons and dopes boo'd him and made us look like a-holes. Now we love him again.....it's frustrating to say the least. I think Bryz deserves at least a full season before I pass judgement, let me see how he plays in the playoffs and the team adjusts to some new defensive pairings. I'll continue to support the guy and wait for him to turn it around because I think he will. But I can tell you that if the fans boo him that will only make this worse. What do you want to see? If you want him to turn it around, start supporting him and stop acting like cavemen. Rant over - flame on.....
  16. JVR is right, booing makes the fans look like asshats and does not help the situation with the goalie at all. What the hell does booing even do? No doubt Bryz knows he's playing like crap, you think acting like a goonish mob of booing hockey fan hacks will help the situation at all or help him regain confidence? Save the booing for jerks and morons who deserve it on the other team, not the guys on your team you should friggin support.
  17. Yea Jim, not really calling you out.....but I knew the source was one of those blogs and I'd bet it's completely made up for attention. People lose their filters when reading stuff on the computer screen, this is not journalism - it's basically barber shop talk/rumors posted to a web page. You're right about him staying wacky stuff, but I've never heard him say anything that bad. He's got better perspective than that. I'd really like to give the guy at least one playoff round before throwing him to the wolves - the fan "outrage" is getting embarrassing becasue we ALWAYS ove-rate the team.
  18. Pretty pathetic. And we have the nerve to question why we have the worst reputation as sports fans?
  19. I call bull **** with this story. Want to hear what my plumber's, brother's friend told him? I think the internets is terrible for this type of crap, it's even worse when people believe it and pass it around as true(sorry Jim!).
  20. I don't want to hijack the thread with a Rangers Vs Flyers comparison, but I see them as better just based on the head to head record. Sure Lundquist has made a signifigant impact in those games, but I always thought he was better than Bryz before Bryz even came to the Flyers. You probably would win the paper argument if we started matching guys individually vs each other, but they just seem to have the Flyers number regardless if our forwards have more upside.
  21. You are correct that he is not living up to his contract, no doubt. But he's played solid enough for the team to still only be a game out of the conference lead. That's not terrible as you make it out to be. Flyers don't give up a ton of shots, so his SV% is a little misleading if you ask me. His GAA could be better no doubt, but it's only slightly below his 2011 number. I think fans need to ease up on the guy and stop the constant negativity and whining. He's not playing that terrible nor is the team in a position to warrant the level of bitching coming from a lot of you. The Rangers are a better team anyway, lets be honest. So we should be happy with the 4th seed and I'm saving my real judgement of the guy once the playoffs start. If he stinks it up and Flyers get bounced by NJ in the first round then I will agree he deserves the level of criticism you are laying on him now. Until then I'm giving the guy more of a break.
  22. Worst all time??? Really??? Stop killing the guy, he's been solid this year - just not spectacular. He'll come around and be fine.
  23. Yea, the cop is totally innocent, how many of you live in the real world? For christ's sake - He goes to the heart of drunk Philly with an opposing team's jersey, after the Flyers just lost, surrounded by drunks stuffing their faces and gets into a shouting match with 5 drunks. He lowered his behavior to enable and allow a street fight to happen and now it's poor him? Again, if he had any common sense he would have walked away or flipped his badge, but he did not, he continued to escalate the situation and what do you know he ended up getting his ass beat. I would expect the same to happen to me if I were outside MSG in a reverse situation, but I've got enough friggin sense to avoid those situations. Of course it was wrong for 5 guys to pile on him and punch him, but he was no angel in escalating the situation to get it to that point. He must suck at his job as a cop.
  24. Common sense says to not wear a Rangers jersey and sh!t talk with Flyers fan in the heart of tourist Philly after people have been drinking all day. Of course the guy did not deserve to get pounded by 5 dudes, but seriously what did he expect going toe to toe with a bunch of guys when he's outnumbered? This just reeks of idiodic behavior by this guy. He had no common sense to stay out of trouble and he kinda got what was coming to him in that situation. And who gives a sh!t if he is a cop or not, if he had any common sense he would have announced that right away and showed his badge to diffuse the situation. But no, he got caught up in a fight and now he wants to hide behind his badge. Don't play with matches if you don't want to get burned idiot.
