With both racing for a loose puck from behind the circles to the back boards, Regehr hit Reaves so hard I thought I would see an exploding melon. I realize that they play at high speed and cannot always control body angles, but Regehr didn't seem to care too much about plowing Reaves' head into the glass. Regehr's hit seemed far worse to me than Randy Jones' on Patrice Bergeron, yet Jones served suspension time. I see more and more hitters angling and pushing down, leading to head smashing. I wish the players would police themselves and bring their legs and hips up into their body checks instead of arms and shoulders down. The players want to eliminate concussions from the game, right? They need to take care of themselves. Sure, the suicide hit feels fun to make, but tagging a dude's head just because it was "there" (legal or not) will just keep the concussions coming.
