I watched the Kings get hammered by the Wings last night and Richards still plays like a monster most shifts. If you have a war-of-a-hockey-game coming up he's my first choice over most of the "superstars" in the NHL - even today.

 

Interesting perspective- and perhaps correct. I just think, while your point is extremely valid, over a 7 game series in the playoffs, I am going to take Carter at this point. The intangibles that always tilted in Richards favor, it seems that Carter now has honed (I used honed so as to not assume he never had those attributes).

 

I never hated carter, just that he seemed alloof half the time. Now, he seems determined and focused and is channelling that into being a superstar.
