TheHockeytown Posted May 20, 2015 Share Posted May 20, 2015 Well, it's official. Coach Mike has signed an 8-year, $50mil contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Does this mean Jeff Blashill's in now? It doesn't seem absolutely certain, but highly likely. In my opinion, he's the best candidate. What does the rest of the Red Wings fanbase think? Capsized Posted May 20, 2015 Share Posted May 20, 2015 I think he will get the job but I also think this is a massive setback for the organization. Any "new blood" is just a countermeasure for profuse bleeding. Between the loss of Nill and staff and now Babcock and staff there is a lot more blood to be replaced than just Blashill's "new voice" is going to fill. I am forever the optimist but I don't see Blashill rebuilding the staff and system and making a run inside the Pav/Z window.
