no1sjsharksfan
So, it was hard to see the game last night if you weren't at the SAP Center (as it was not televised), but Kevin LaBanc sure made a good first impression. On a line with Ryan Carpenter and Barclay Goodrow, the Sharks rookie forward had 1 goal and 1 assist, with 4 shots on goal. LaBanc also scored the game winner in overtime. This starts the question of who is going to take someone's job in the NHL lineup. Outside Pavelski, Thornton, Couture, Hertl and Donskoi, you have to image that all roster spots up front are up for grabs. If someone is outplaying even Patrick Marleau, we are going to see Marleau on the third or fourth line this year. He could possible find himself out of San Jose. LaBanc and Goodrow made a good pair last night. Could they push themselves into the opening night lineup? Timo Meier is unfortunately dealing with strep throat, so he has yet to make his case in a game.
