Home Sweet Home
Buffalo is back at home tonight at the First Niagara Center for the first time since January 13th a 3-2 win against the Leafs. The opponent tonight are the 1st place New York Rangers. They are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to NJ last night. The last time the Sabres lost in regulation at home was to these very New York Rangers on December 10th. Since then they have put a pretty good home streak together.
Marty Biron played last night in NJ, therefore Henrik Lundqvist will be between the pipes tonight for the Rangers. Lundqvist is not the guy Buffalo or any team wants to be looking at defending the goal. King Henrik is the runaway favorite in my opinion for the Vezina this season.
I love watching Ryan Callahan play. I would do anything to have a player like him on my team. He never gives up on any play, is physical, and can score. A great captain for the Rangers. However on the other side of the things Brad Richards comes into tonights game on a bit of a slump. He has 33 pts in 49 games and only 2 in his last 9.
Thomas Vanek will not play tonight and another un-named forward may miss tonights game from an illness. In case that forward cannot go Zack Kassian has been recalled, it is possible to Kassian to play for Vanek instead of Adam, but I would highly highly doubt it.
I expect Miller in goal again. Enroth won't be in net until next Friday or Saturday.
Expected Lineup:
Leino-Roy-Pominville
Gerbe-Ennis-Stafford
Boyes-Gaustad-Kaleta
McCormick-Adam-Ellis
(Reserve for Ill player-Zack Kassian)
Myers-Ehrhoff
Sekera-Regher
Leopold-Weber
Miller
(Enroth)
Prediction: Why not? 3-2 Buffalo.
