Well Im glad it never went through too. JVR goes up and down like a rollercoaster but he sure is worth more than harding.

I was glad we traded both of them but I couldnt never belive they would be this good in their new teams. Its funny how players can change. I guess you can never underrate teamspirit, tactics, players roles and how players feel.

I think so yes. Im not the type of guy who thinks golies are the most important player on the team... but when you pay a guy that mutch you expect that he does crazy impossible gamewinning saves. Make the difference. Not just being decent or solid. Tim Thomas does that for an example.

I wouldnt complain if we just had Bob and he would playing like Bryz is doing now becouse then we could afford 1 or 2 better defensmen or a winger

He might be something solid for next year then. I doubt he will join us more than occasional

I hear you! When Bryz was mentioned at first before he got here all I heard "he is underrated, he is awesome bla bla" but STILL he had not PROVED ANYTHING. All he did was playing for crappy teams and being a back-up for all I know. Sure he is a decent golie but for this money? no mofo way.

So whats the reason calling up Bourdon instead of Gustafsson (who has been good). Add size to the defense? Let Bourdon breath som NHL air? Who is this guy Bourdon anyway? How did he look this night?

You're kidding right? We're on a pp, Pronger falls down and sends Winnipeg off on a 2 on 1 (while up 3-1) and it's Bobs fault? I agree it would be nice for him to stop a breakaway, but that goal was on Pronger. He (along with just about everyone else) didn't bring his "A" game.

I agree but I think Pronger already knew that it would look embarrassing if he would try to catch em up. At the time he is up on his skates again the situation is over. I like Pronger. He is a great leader with a huge impact on the team. But he is old and slow and we have to live with that and accept it.

I disagree with you there. I can understand if you hate Jagr but I do think the 3mil is a great investment for Jagr. He has done everything we can ask of him, playing defense, backcheck and practicing almost all day. That will rub off on the team especially with how many young players we have now. Yes he make bad plays and take lazy penalties but so does the rest of the team. I can live with his mistakes as long as he hustles in all areas of the ice which certain players on this team don't.

Not to take anything away from Giroux, he is great but do you see the chemistry between him and Jagr? They know where each other is on the ice most of the time, they compliment each other very well. I don't think anyone on this team right now can do what Jagr has done for Giroux. Too bad we will never find out and I don't want to anyways. I just hope you open up some and enjoy what they are bringing nite after nite to this team right now. Relax and have fun cheering the Flyers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont hate Jagr. I just dont think fish is good with icecream. I dont think Jagr is good with flyers. Just an opinion based on feelings.. Jagr is not a bad player.

Pronger's goal was nice, but to fall down and give up a shortie just ruined it for me.

SImmonds made bad decisions all game long. Now we know who Schenn can replace.

I agree. Pronger doesnt get younger and we have to get use to see him get lost in some parts of the game, when its about speed and movements he cant compete. Simmonds... well dont give up on him yet. He is young and we have seen very good games from him as well. Pronger wont get better but Simmonds can and I think he will get better.

I know some posters had their hopes up that Jagr would fail in Philly for some strange reason. But he has been the perfect complement to Giroux and has been absolutely nothing like the skeptics predicted. Anyway, I really hope he holds up physically throughout the season since that is really the only argument the skeptics potentially still have. However, even if he does wear down my hat is off to the guy for doing what he has done so far.

Jagr have been slightly better than I expected but I still think we could spend the 3M on something more fun. I honestly think Giroux had been this good anyway, Jagr or not. Dont take it away from Giroux. I think Jagr is washed up. If you take off your Jagr glasses you could see that he makes some really bad plays too, lazy penelties etc.

I agree I might been kind of wrong. Jagr is better for our team than I expected but I still think we could get better for the money and that Jagr doesnt suit the O&B

I also pass on Carter.

I must say that before the season I thought we would be a low scoring team. Not neccessary bad, but not a high scoring team. So yes, Im surprised. Nice post by the way FF4L

The only thing Gustafsson have against him is his physical play I think. Well, he doesnt need to play physical but in that case he must damn good on other stuff like positions and puckhandling, pokechecks etc. Lidstroms hits over the years are easy to count, not so many but he is one of the best defensemen in positions and pokechecks. I think there is potential in Gustafsson but he has to choose a way to go now. Add some weight and play more with his body or getting better on pokechecks and positions.

Just want to say hi everybody! What a great job by Digityman for making this happend. Been on the philly.com for 7-8 years but when it got cancer I guess it was time to move on. Seems like everybody, the fans, the die hards, is here anyway! Looking forward.
