NO DUCHENE.  PLEASE NO.  It's no coincidence that every team he leaves gets better immediately and every team he is sent to falls apart almost immediately.

Stralman's a good idea depending on the term.

He'll likely cost a bit less than Tyler Myers who will break the bank (but I like him).

There's talk of the Jets being willing to trade Trouba's rights as well, but I think that's B.S. and can only imagine it happening if they decide to double down on the soon to be 30 year old Myers instead which feels unlikely to me.

Problem with Duchene is his other teams have used him as a number 1 center. I think he fits perfectly as a number 2.  70 points in 73 games this year.  Will upgrade your power play immediately.  Not a lot of other choices out there with that type of offensive production.

  2. My guess is the Flyers will take a run at Matt Duchene and someone like Anton Stralman.  Coburn is available as well.. All I can is say after watching Talbot here in Edmonton for the past two seasons I hope the don't sign him. His game has regressed so much it's crazy.  I don't even know if he's an NHL goalie anymore.

Some rumors swirling around tonight that Joel Farabee will leave Boston University and sign his ELC this week. If true, playing in the NHL or AHL this season would NOT burn a year off his ELC. Farabee's contract would 'begin' starting next season.

Can confirm, as @frank_seravalli just reported, Joel Farabee will leave Boston University and sign his entry-level contract with the #Flyers.

  4. Eff the Preds it's what they get by playing hardball with Weber now they have the boatanchor contract....they deserve it.

Totally agree. If I remember correctly Weber was pretty insulted by the Predators offer. His agent did what the system allows you to do. I find it hard to fault the Flyers in this situation. Their was no rules broken. The Predators knew what could happen if he made it to RFA and it did. The Flyers weren't the only team lining up with an offer sheet. Thiers just happened to be the best. So if I read this article correctly it suggests that a team will not deal with another team even if makes them better out of revenge. I would really question my GM if that was the case.

  5. I think Homer is going to resign after this season. They didn't bring Hextall in just serve Clarkie popcorn.

That's funny I was just thinking the same the thing the other day. I wouldn't be surprised if Homer retires or moves into a different roll with the team.

  6. Yes but in his defense it's not like it's a secret or anything....he has been that way all season....why the Rangers got away from that i'm not sure. I'd like to think they didn't have the time like they did earlier in the game Flyers did a better job back checking not a lot but a little....

The Flyers just started to play better defensively as the game went on.  They weren't letting the Rangers gain the zone with any kind of speed. They also weren't allowing the long pass through the neutral zone. Emery played well but the Rangers are still going to exploit his lateral movement. I know it's a nice story but as soon as Mason is 100% he's back in. At the end of the day Emery is your back up and doing what a back up should do. Giving your team a chance to win and that's all you can ask. I feel a lot more confident with Mason in net than with Emery. Mason makes saves just on his quickness that Emery can't make.

  7. I wonder if Patrick Roy would try push the glass down between the two benches with Berube back there. At least we say we have the toughest head coach in the league. I don't know if it will make the Flyers better but atleast its something.
