  1. ...but he still wears the dbag Yankees hat in LA. Had sky- high hopes for him whle in Philly, but honestly he's kind of a tool. Rednex Rebellion, WTF.
  2. Getting rid of Briere's cap hit would go a real long way to clear space for Weber, but alas it seems Briere is unlikely to waive his NMC. He seems pretty enconsed in living in the area, his kids with their schools & teams. He just went through a divorce - I highly doubt he'd uproot the boys & subject them to any further instability. That said, strictly team chemistry-wise, I think the Flyers would be fine without Briere considering his salary if it could mean adding a franchise dman like Weber (although Danny *is* a proven clutch playoff performer...)
  3. Giroux Scores. The only parallel that exists is that they are both Flyers hockey players that sustained concussions. Lindros played like a bull in a china shop, hittingfi everything in sight, & fought all the time. Hits by Kaspar, Stevens, et al were deliberately to take him down. He played with a target on his back, & likely had dozens of concussions likely entirely due to his style of play. Giroux is a finesse player. You almost never see him putting his head recklessly in direct harms way like E did. G has prob had as many fights in his entire career as 88 would in a week. Calling him the "Next Lindros" is not only erroneous but also extremely short sighted & premature. Production wise, any player comes off a major injury & can struggle to get back into the rythym they were in prior to the injury - especially when their Hall of Fame line mate has also been injured. The main thing you seem to be overlooking is that considering G is the 2nd leading scorer in the league, likely every opponent's main focus going into playing the Flyers is to shut down #28 first & foremost. I think that has more than anything to do than anything with the shift in his play / production. That said - he does seem to be targeted for cheap shots more lately (Volchenkov today), which is concerning for the future. Lavy / the players will need to address this. But I think he's being targeted because he's a big scorer now - not cause everyone hates him for beating the sh!t out of everyone the way Lindros did.
  4. What a rediculous thing to say. Why would you even say that?? As mentioned - not even remotely the same player.
  5. @habsguy26 - exactly, thank you (although I bet you guys would fall over yourselves to get a 2/3 rd pick AND one of our young 4-5 Dman for him, eh??) @doom88 - hilarious...!
  6. Are you serious? A 4-5 Dman PLUS a draft pick for Hal Gill??? He's gonna get tossed on the scrap heap in the blink of an eye at the end of the season by a really lame Habs club.
  7. The answer to what, exactly? Dude's a 37 year old pylon - slow as shite, and a collective minus-30 over the last 3 seasons. In his "prime" not even a shadow of Hatch or Pronger. No thanks - I'd rather let MAB / Gus play it out. Those kids are good, let em develop & get valuable experience. Gill's done. Complete step backwards, IMO...
  8. Aw, c'mon - who in their right mind doesn't love nachos??
  9. @hf101 - "...fifth in the league...at what?" That was f'ing priceless. Best part of the whole show for me. Who the h3ll talks like that anyway?? I love how G was so nonchalant about it - all he asked was if he was taking the next faceoff-! Ott may have been 5th in the league in FO's, but he might as well be #1 in douchebaggery % after that game. The funniest thing is that the Flyers absolutely dominated Ott's team & made him look like an even bigger idiot, if that's at all possible. (OT, anyone notice how Avery has all but disappeared from the show?? Santa was listening!!)
  10. @JackStraw "Respectfully, no... I'm not taking it out of context. Bernie was a well known flake. In a good way of course, but flaky nonetheless." Well agree to disagree semantically, I guess. "Flake" has a definite negative connotation IMHO - I've read a lot about Bernie & he was one of the main leaders of that team, probably second only to Clarkie. My take on it was that he had a "wacky" sense of humor (esp. for the times as an athlete), but a stone cold killer when it came to goaltending. Even 16 said he would "follow Bernie across the water..." His levity at certain times on the ice was calculated & a means to an end as far as keeping himself & his boys on an even keel in rediculously high pressure situations. When it came to his work - you can't really begin to use a word like "flake" - the results speak for themselves. If he were to follow up those 1-0, 2-0 shutouts in the SCF's by giving up 5-6 goals, then maybe. So within the context of this thread "Bryz...Still Crazy" - I don't think you can even put Bryz in the same, um, "universe" (forgive me ) as Bernie - Bryz is a true "flake" if you ask me. Dude gets a major payday, emancipation from a 3rd tier hockey market to one of the best hockey towns / organizations in the NHL, has the best offense in the league playing in front of him as well as the top 5 D, & the ****** is still playing like its the preseason. Now that's the ******* definition of flaky right there.
  11. @TedZep - after all the debate the past week over "to Bryz or not to Bryz" - it's painfully clear to me after the game in Dallas that he's a frigging momentum killer to this team. They're rediculously outshooting TB yet its somehow 1-1 after the first period. I expected the Flyers to keep steamrolling - PP to start the 2nd, its rarely been a problem for them to make up some goals this season. Then after its 2-1, you could just see the frustration of the whole team, *especially* Lavi. Everyone's posture just changed. Bryz is officially in everyone's head now. Bob let in a tough goal in Dallas early, then he settled in & let his team get back into the game. This time was reversed - the Flyers had all the momentum & Bryz pissed it all away.
  12. @Leach27 - I think an old school medieval poisoning would be more appropriate, but that's just me
  13. @doom88 DEFINITELY NOT apologizing to that a$$ clown. After that CO game / shootout debacle, it seemed that there were quite a few rationalizations for Bryz' play (W-L, etc.) Its pretty clear that he's a complete piece of garbage now. Looking forward to Bob in the net for the WC (**crossing fingers**)
  14. 4-1 Tampon Bay after 2. Flyers outshooting Bolts 21-12. Sorry, but BRYZ ******* SUCKS....!!!!!!!!!
