  1. The stat you provided is not what I was talking about. Yes, they have gone on to win the majoirty of the games when they held a lead but not before they give up that lead and have to score another go-ahead goal. The fact is that they have blown a 2 goal lead the last 4 games in a row, but managed to come back and score a GWG in 2 of them and lost the other 2. I don't have the time to look it up but from my recollection they have had leads in many games this year only to give up that lead and then have had to score more goals to get the win. Conversely, I can't recall too many times when the Flyers have taken the lead and then held that lead for the duration of the game.
  2. How many games have we blown leads this year?? The last 4 games in a row they have blown a 2 goal lead. That is PATHETIC. There is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. I was criticized on this board a few games ago for calling them out on it but the facts are the facts. This team is pretty good overall but also has some big issues that need to be corrected or we are in for a lot more frustration and disappointment.
  3. Certainly winning is the point, but in the bigger picture the problems this team is displaying is going to lead to fewer and fewer wins.
  4. I am so tired of this s--t. I dont care that we won. It never should have come to that. This team has become very frustrating to watch.
  5. Agreed, definitely top 3 every year for past few seasons and certainly better than anything we got!
  6. Was Giroux on the ice during the penalty? It has to be someone from the ice and I think Giroux was on the bench.
  7. Bob played really well but Henrik didnt allow a bad goal on Bob did and it was the difference in the game. Sometimes it only takes one bad goal to make the difference. Just ask Michael Leighton.
  8. Wow, Briere a total n ow show today, including on the penalty shot. That was the worst penalty shot attempt ever. I could have shot it straight into Lundquist.
  9. I haven't seen him do one meaningful thing this game. I thought he was supposed to be a big game player?
  10. That one is all on Giroux. Richards was his man and should have never gotten a clean shot off.
  11. Agreed, step up or try to block. He did neither and totally screened Bob.
  12. Agreed, bad play by Mesz but so far solid play by Bob. It looked like the Rangers might have been just offsides when they entered the zone and if so play obviously sould have been blown dead. I never got another look at it though.
  13. I'll take those 2 points, especially after it looked like we were in for a long night after the first 90 seconds. (Goal against and penalty against.) I thought Bob looked pretty good. Got lucky a couple of times and thought he went down early on the 2nd goal exposing top corner but that was a perfect shot by Kennedy.
  14. Couldnt agree more. How do you not start Bob??? (I am sure there will be a reason because I gauruntee Sivgolov gets the start.)
  15. Maybe because Jagr already choked on 2 fantastic PP chances?
  16. Nice start boys. Terrible goal in the first minute and now a penalty. WTF?
  17. Let's compare apples to apples. Football coaches are supposed to be fat. He's no Ken Hitchcock (or Barry Trotz) but he should lay off the donuts.
  18. I like Lavy and how he carries himself on 24/7, but I thought he was in better shape. He's kinda fat. (put this in the category of completely meaningless comments, which I am very good at.)
  19. I was realy looking forward to the Winter Classic but now I am beginning to dread it. If Bryz is in net this could end up being an embarassment for the Flyers on national television against a rival team that is playing far superior hockey over the last few games. Then again maybe getting embarassed in front of the hockey world will be just the medicine this team needs and the push that Lavi needs to finally play the goalie that is playing better.
  20. I am over it. Bryz has flopped his way out of the #1 spot in my opinion. Not one "stolen" game this year. He has only won the ones he should have won while also managing to lose games that he should have won. I am not saying tonight fits that category but possibly. Everyone else is saying the deflection goals were unstoppable, but I think the first deflection was very stoppable if he had been playing better position and hugging the post considering the shot came from a wide angle. I think he should have stopped at least 2 of the 4 Ranger goals. At any rate, Bryz is not anything close to what he was billed to be and I think Bob deserves the majority of the starts for a while and see how he, and the team, responds. And I don' t give a fk that Bryz had a special mask made for the winter classic, let Bob start.
  21. Doom, we defintely need him now and always, but I agree 100% - don't rush his return. Let him be absolutely 100% before coming back. Nothing is worth risking his health long term.
  22. Good point Aziz, I probably did not put enough emphasis on the weight that Thomas brings to their success, but I think you may be discounting their full roster somewhat. It is a very balanced team with a deep combination of skill, grit and toughness. I think the Flyers have more skill (when everyone is healthy) but I don't think we match as well with their grit and toughness. Our only player that I would describe as "miserable to play against" is out for the season. The Bruins have a few players that I would put in that category, led by but not limited to Chara and Lucic.
