Although I’m told a finalized deal is NOT in place at this time, a final agreement is close. It is believed that Carle and his camp will be looking for a deal for three or more years at over $12.75-million.

    Lavy beat the Bruins two years ago in the playoffs... taking out the Rangers in order to get to the playoffs. We will be fine if we play games like we played game 6 against the Pens. I agree that we should keep in in perspective but confidence and momentum is a good thing. EDIT: Darn you AFF

    With our talented forwards, I'm very OK with someone who clears the crease, hits like a truck, blocks a ton of shots and is tough playing a role of a stay-at-home defense type player. I doubt we'll go after Suter, nor do I want the Flyers to go after him or to resign Carle. Rather give a cheaper contract to Kubina, and roll with Timo-Meszaros Grossman-Coburn MAB-Kubina next year, and reallocate the difference between Carle and Kubina towards resigning Voracek and maybe Jagr. Voracek has gotta be the team's #1 priority now.

    It could be argued that Zdeno Chara had that same problem in the plus/minus category. After his first four years in the NHL, Chara was a -61... Could a change of scenery be what JJ needs? As I posted on here earlier, JJ's original projection from hockeysfuture rates him higher than JVR... Not saying that either lives up to it or down to it, but who knows? As for Carle, I think come July first the absolute best you'll get is a third round pick. That's how much Hamhuis cost.... If you can get a first now, do it, IMO

    The writings on the wall for Carle, and I think if the Flyers are gonna trade Carle, then they are going to go after yet another defenseman. Would you rather acquire Luke Schenn? Those are the two we are hearing about

But clearly, at least at one point, Jack Johnson had a significantly higher grade by this particular unbiased scouting service.

    Seeing as Dom Moore, a rental 4th line center, cost a 2nd round pick... I'd say the Flyers made off well
