  1. Schenn will still be a RFA at the end of this deal!
  2. http://www.prosportstransactions.com/hockey/Search/SearchResults.php?Player=&Team=penguins&BeginDate=2006-05-25&EndDate=&PlayerMovementChkBx=yes&submit=Search A history of Ray Shero's moves as the Pens GM
  3. Underrated Homer moves: Good Trading for Ville Leino and NOT resigning him! Jagr (good for signing him, bad that he's gone) Mark Streit Meszaros + 2nd rounder for MacDonald Bad Trading Pat Maroon for nothing (who has been useful for the Ducks) Kris Versteeg (although the Leafs haven't done much with him and the picks we acquired from the Panthers produced Ghost) Pavel Kubina Stefan Legein trade As for Hexy: I'm thinking it has to be the Brayden Schenn situation. Either resigning him or trading him needs to be priority #1
  4. FIRE HEXTALL!! But seriously. The AHL part was most interesting. The Phantoms have been a ghost of an AHL organization recently. Player development is underrated.
  5. To an AHL only deal from 2014-2015 per Frank Seravelli
  6. Per Dustin Leed and Tim Panotch, MacDonald will be resigned
  7. Hexy has been an excellent assistant for the Kings. Couldn't like this move more
  8. I love Vinny. He's a consummate professional, big, plays well in big moments. He's a perfect addition to mentor Giroux, Schenn, Couturier as he's been a long time NHL captain and winner. I couldn't be happier. This is one of my favorite players moving to my favorite team Sorry if what I said is a repeat of someone else. The contract isn't horrible but cheaper than I thought.

  10. It definitely depends on what each team wants for these players. I'd really like Byfuglien on this team -- I think he would give us what we are missing, a big, gnarly defenseman with a cannon shot.
  11. http://www.csnphilly.com/hockey-philadelphia-flyers/flyers-look-land-austrian-winger-michael-raffl "Asked whether he thought the Flyers were close to signing Raffl, Brown said, “Yeah.” Raffl’s entire hockey career has been spent in Europe. He played six seasons with VSV EC in the Austrian Hockey League before joining Leksands. “If you can get one guy a year from the World Championships basically for nothing, it’s a home run,” Brown said. That said, Leksands general manager Tommy Salo told Dalarnas Tidningar that Raffl does not have an “out” clause and therefore, the club would require financial compensation from any outside club given he has a year left on his contract. “I don’t remember us signing anyone from over there where we had to pay,” Brown said. Another Swedish newspaper, Aftonbladet, reported the Flyers' interest in Starkbaum, who had a very good season for MODO (2.06 goals against average; .933 save percentage) but was terrible in both the playoffs and World Championships with GAAs approaching or over 4.00." http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=15216
  12. The only way I'm sending Schenn to Buffalo is for Tyler Myers. If Torts gets fired, I'd take him as the coach over Lavy. I don't think Ruff or Vigneault is a better option
  13. Awesome trade. Gave up nothing to bring him back!! And cap-wise, CP20 has not been put on LTIR on capgeek.

  15. Let's not forget our 25 year old captain beginning to pick it up. 8 points over the last four games for #28. Briere is also waking up, with 7 points over his last five games. The Flyers are, knock on wood, becoming a more potent offense. And that's without Hartnell. I expect Hartsy to start heating up as well
  16. I think it would be prudent to add Grossmann to thie list of current Flyers, and Powe on the former Flyers. Powe was sent for the 3rd rounder that was combined with the Kings 2nd rounder in order to acquire Grossmann. So far it has been a win-win for both teams.
  17. Tim Panaccio ‏@tpanotchCSN CONFIRMED: Flyers are close to re-signing Timomen to a 1-yr deal worth $6 million. Expect an announcement before end of week

  19. As you can tell by my avatar, I can't possibly like this move more. Simmer is the very definition of a Flyer; tough, mean and talented. I remember when he took a puck off his face to score a goal, got stitches and fought later that week. Just awesome.
  20. 2 years 1.225 (total) for MAB 925,000 over 3 years with 212,500 bonus for Laughton
  21. Philadelphia Flyers ‏@NHLFlyers NEWS: #Flyers signed 2012 1st rd pick Scott Laughton to entry-level contract & re-signed D Marc-Andre Bourdon to a multi-year extension.
  22. I think when evaluating a player it's interesting to look back at what they were ranked as prospects. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/jakub_voracek/ They have him as an 8.5 with a B probability of success.
  23. Screw that. That's arguably more than we offered for Weber. I'm calling BS
