The AHL part was most interesting. The Phantoms have been a ghost of an AHL organization recently. Player development is underrated.

I'd really like Byfuglien on this team -- I think he would give us what we are missing, a big, gnarly defenseman with a cannon shot.

If Torts gets fired, I'd take him as the coach over Lavy. I don't think Ruff or Vigneault is a better option

The Flyers are, knock on wood, becoming a more potent offense. And that's without Hartnell. I expect Hartsy to start heating up as well

I think it would be prudent to add Grossmann to thie list of current Flyers, and Powe on the former Flyers. Powe was sent for the 3rd rounder that was combined with the Kings 2nd rounder in order to acquire Grossmann.

So far it has been a win-win for both teams.

As you can tell by my avatar, I can't possibly like this move more. Simmer is the very definition of a Flyer; tough, mean and talented. I remember when he took a puck off his face to score a goal, got stitches and fought later that week. Just awesome.
