Well, it will go one of 3 ways as I see it...

1) - It demoralizes G ( I doubt this)

2) - It lights a fire under him and theres a big chip on his shoulder.

3) - Or he gets called up as a replacement because of injury. Kinda insulting if you ask me but.....

Now at the risk of ticking off any of our friends north of the border I will say the while Canada has always been the 2nd team I root for , this year I kinda hope they crash and burn. Some humility (WJC anyone?) will do them some good. There are 3-4 players hands down that should be on that team over some of those named.

I love Cananda but question SY as the manager. They likely will win gold anyway.

Nice to see you can predict the future and are so optimistic... I wasn't even talking about future drafts. We have taken ourselves out of any top draft pick (so far) and as far as I'm concerned thats a good thing. We'll probably have a good chance to tune things up this summer.

I think it's remarkable that at one point we were dead last in the league and are now in a playoff spot. Maybe tomorrow we are not but right now we are. As you point out, that's with missing blue line pieces. We have severe lineup issues up front ( http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/sports/flyers/Options-galore-for-Berube.html ) not because of injuries but to many viable pieces. We will have allot of money and some trade bait. We are not that bad off. Not a contender at this point but not that bad either.

I suppose we can keep remembering the FEW bad moves made and let that guide our opinions. I prefer to be a glass is half full kind of person. And being ranked at 16 is just about perfect for that analogy. We are "only" # 16 in the league or, wow we are #16 in the league after that start. Everyone has their choice.

I think he got most right but I like your grades a bit better. I disagree with Howie on Homer. Overall, he's pulled some good moves THIS season. Some PAST moves cloud many peoples opinions. The grades are based on this past off season and the first half of this season only... And the Flyers seem to have a problem with all the players who could be called up and then had to send viable young players back to juniors and such because there was no roster spot for them. Sounds like we are stocked. Maybe not as much as others but not bad either. Just my observation but I'm crazy anyway.

Had not thought of it that way... I guess you go on a wing and a prayer that he would be professional. (but he owes us atleast one soft goal). Oh, he wasn't real professional while here so...........

So, do they deserve to be there? I think they just might. I'll be the optimist and say they (who ever rates these things at the NHL) are reading the tea leaves and seeing what the team is starting to do and how fast the turn around has been. I just hope I didn't just put a hex on them!

But, it could explain some of the issues. Not all of them but why call up the kid multiple times and not play him?  Are they trying to crush his spirit???

I don't particularly care if McGinn plays or not - it's just odd that they've made the decision to call him up twice and he hasn't seen any ice time.

McGinn is Berube's illegitimate son and is embarassed about it? I mean, really , what could McGinn have done that was so bad. He has allot of stuff to work on in his game but wasn't horrible. Scored 3 goals which is more than most of the team.  Maybe he told Berube to go Ef himself or something....?

Agree Doc, you are not much of a fan if you don't stand behind them. There are ups and downs. One thing that amazes me about Flyers fans is they started horrible and everyone was calling for ....well just about everyones head. Then they do great and there not even a whisper, then they lose 1 game and the "all is lost" thing is back... Count me in the "i'm with the team " group...

Someone give Homer a little credit? LCV, Mason, Downie and the coaching change? Maybe he's not AS bad as said....

Id just go with a 10 min 5 on 5 Sudden death ot with one twist... If a team scores, then the other team has an additional 60 seconds to "retie" the game. Then it is a tie in the books. If two teams cant win in roughly 70 min then its a draw in my books. NO MORE 3 POINT GAMES....

Anbody check the local Bufallo papers to see if Rick has offed himself considering Buffalo's plight.
